ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking an Engineering Intern to support our work at NASA in Washington, DC (initially remote).
This is a great opportunity to support NASA HQ in Washington, DC. Applicant will be supporting the Network Services Division of the Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) within the Human Explorations and Operations Mission Directorate.
Responsibilities:
Individual will provide support to the Network Services Division and work directly with Division Managers on engineering tasks and coordination support. Potential tasks include:
Plans, schedules and coordinates activities and processes to support key activities and meetings such as project and program reviews (attending meetings as appropriate). Coordinates meetings, takes notes, and disseminating minutes and actions. Tracking and following up on actions of responsible parties.
Generates presentations, charts, graphs, correspondence, spreadsheets and other similar documents related to technical development activities. Proofreads and provides technical editing to a number of deliverables. Compile comments from multiple stakeholders into a cohesive message.
Upload documentation and materials to centralized repositories, and organize content for multiple users. Serves as interface with center project leads and NASA HQ managers Provide regular communication with major stakeholders of upcoming milestones and deliverables.
Individual will be expected to support multiple staff members or tasks and have excellent communication and organization skills to effectively support the customer.
This is a part time, temporary internship position starting in early 2021, with support typically during regular business hours, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
Please note: Due to the current circumstances of the Coronovirus-19 pandemic, this position will start as a remote telework position and may shift to the NASA HQ office in Washington, DC in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
Requirements:
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
Strong computer skills are required.
Attention to detail is critical.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be a US Citizen.
Education/Experience:
Active enrollment in an Undergraduate or Master's degree is required, preferably in an engineering field such as electrical, systems, aerospace engineering or a related field.
Prior NASA experience is greatly beneficial.
Minimum GPA 3.0.
Students in their Junior year, Senior year or graduate school are preferred.
