The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.

Enterprise Business Intelligence, part of the U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team at American Express, brings together foundational technologies in the Data & Visualization stack. It delivers Data Assets, Capabilities, Visualization & Insights that power enterprise analytics serving business verticals like digital, marketing, acquisitions and more. The group fosters with a culture of full stack engineering that works on Big Data, Cloud and BI platforms to deliver best in class capabilities across American Express.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide direction for delivery of software solutions, design and implementation of data driven solutions to provide the best in-class application development with pioneering technologies.

  • Lead multiple teams in iterative product development using lean principles to build state of-the-art components ensuring consistency to development standard methodologies, CI/CD, and automation.

  • Direct operations, analyze workflow, establish priorities, develop standards and set-up deadlines.

  • Build an engineering team focused on continuous improvement through technical and leadership development to successfully develop, deploy, support, and supervise software across various environments.

  • Promote reuse and collaboration across shared services and components by demonstrating enterprise frameworks and implement product roadmaps.

  • Facilitate system integrations, rules and decision engines, and operational management flows.

  • Ensure product releases are high quality, deliver excellent user experiences, perform seamlessly at scale, and align with regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with engineers, and several technology collaborators to develop Big Data and GCP analytical solutions, create insights about Consumer and marketing initiatives and Card Members across the full spectrum of digital channels.

  • Ensure alignment of strategy, architecture, tools/methods with software engineers and architects, and automated CI/CD pipeline and a production environment that scales to meet anticipated demand;

  • Maintain top delivery standards by building robust, secure, and quality software that meets business needs and requirements.

  • Confer with technology leaders, business partners, and product owners to gain a deep understanding of the user.

  • Anticipate issues, and resolve problems by providing ongoing technical support.

  • Ensure compliance with technical, architectural, regulatory, and strategic standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Supervise and ensure platform stability across multiple production and non-production development environments.

  • Collaborate across business units to design solutions and prioritize, plan, and implement the development schedule.

Qualifications:

  • You have Computer Science degree, or equivalent with at-least 12+ years of work experience and at least 5 years of leadership role experience.

  • Have lead platform and delivery teams with respect to Business Intelligence.

  • Have experience leading engineering teams and in agile methodologies, have enabled DevOps attitude, processes, and tools.

  • Ability to learn and deep dive into new technology and business domains, question status quo and think outside of the box.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Create and deliver effective presentations to Senior Leadership.

  • Knowledge of Big data platform, GCP and BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI.

Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
