Job Description Summary

The Engineering Director leads Installed Based activities for the Maternal and Infant Care business. The Director has wing to wing responsibility within Engineering for the following areas of business operations: Product ICV, Product Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Installed Base operations, Franchise VCP and On Time Delivery. This role will provide strategic and tactical leadership for all engineering deliverables connected to these areas as well as collaborate with partner functions to ensure business objectives are met.

The Director leads a global team of engineers dedicated to installed base, lifecycle and operations within the business. This role is responsible for strategically driving IB optimization and functional excellence.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Engineering leadership for all MIC product lifecycle operations including but not limited to ICV, On Time Delivery, Product Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Installed Base engineering and franchise VCP.

  • Adopt principles of Lean to streamline lifecycle operations with the goal of maximizing engineering efficiency and ensuring customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Take active ownership of all engineering actions impacting OTD, such as engineering changes, product quality holds, etc. Collaborate as required with cross-functional teams for all other drivers.

  • Works with the product management and engineering teams to manage post-launch lifecycle of products within MIC to ensure that our products remain high-quality, cost-effective, competitive and state-of-the-art.

  • Inspire, coach, and foster a high-performance global team focused on customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

  • Promote spirit of teamwork and collaboration among the globally situated MIC team members.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives.

  • Play a key role in planning and executing our strategic goals including standardization of designs, adoption of HLAs, reducing IB maintenance burden, supplier de-risking, refreshing our products, platforming

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical or Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline.

  • 15 years of relevant industry experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in areas related to product lifecycle management including Order fulfilment, VCP and IB.

  • Demonstrated execution at meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budget goals in a global setup.

  • Demonstrated engineering knowledge, global mindset, and business acumen, having experience with the complete product lifecycle management.

  • Familiarity with ISO, FDA, CE and other regulatory standards from Post-Market perspective.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree in engineering or equivalent (defined as 15 years progressive experience within engineering, science, or related field, including 8 years project leadership experience within manufacturing, development, or research development)

  • Global leadership experience.

  • Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the segment products.

  • Sound technical and domain experience in at least one functional technology area.

  • Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the product cycle

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent knowledge in engineering and business planning processes having experience with the full product post-market lifecycle.

  • Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation.

  • Demonstrated LEAN skills.
