Job Summary:

In this role you will act as a liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure engineering concepts are presented to the production group in the most appropriate and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure smooth project transition into production by:

  • Managing each molding PQ execution

  • Training production staff on inspection, sampling, and packaging techniques

  • Ensuring product is handled in a safe and efficient manner

  • Coordinate and/or perform all necessary machine IQ's, including validation protocol and report writing, facilitating the qualification, and updating IQ records within Master Control.

  • Perform product audits to ensure adherence of production to quotes and standards.

  • Support Engineering projects and support Product Development as required.

  • Support process improvements, cost reductions/savings, scrap reductions, etc. through the implementation of LEAN concepts.

  • Improve processes and procedures to manufacture a quality product at a minimum cost.

  • Provides a "Customer Service" attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.

  • Other duties as assigned based on business needs.

  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance.

Education and Experience:

  • Education or Equivalent Experience: High School or equivalent
  • 1 - 3 Years of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills

  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Master Control, Measurlink, and Minitab

  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target

  • Able to comply with the company's safety policy at all times

  • Able to comply with the company's quality policy at all times

POSITION SUMMARY: The Engineering Verification Technician will work under the direction of the Verification Engineering Manager, and assist with customer sample builds, test sample builds, device related component qualifications, engineering and verification testing activities, and equipment required for verification testing. The individual will bring excellent analytical, engineering, and organizational talent to the execution of development projects at West. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: . * Provides a "Customer Service" attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards. * The Engineering Verification Technician will perform and document engineering and verification testing activities under the supervision of the Verification Engineering Manager for a product (or product family) in accordance with current Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). * Prepares test samples according to work instructions and procedures for engineering and verification testing. * Prepares customer evaluation samples and performs release testing as required for delivery systems in development. * Assist development team in the development of test methods, work instructions, and other documentation as required. * Follows protocols required for Engineering Testing, Human Factors Engineering, Design Verification and Design Validation. * Assist development team in the design and fabrication of engineering test fixtures and assembly aids. * Participates in the execution of Gage R&R and qualification of engineering test fixtures, assembly fixtures, test methods, and assembly methods used in the development process. * Creates necessary documentation in support of assigned activities in compliance with West QMS. * Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules. * Promote and support an agile and lean development process. * Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs. * Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance. Safety Equipment: * Safety glasses, hairnet, face/beard cover, gloves, safety shoes and hearing protection as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Education or Equivalent Experience: Associate Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Technology * Experience: 0-3 years of experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience: Less than 3 years * 2+ years Electromechanical Testing Medical Device Industry * This position requires a highly organized person who is articulate and personable, rapidly establishes rapport with diverse personalities, responds to people's needs, and demonstrates initiative and commitment to quality in all tasks. * Proficient in MS Office suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
