The Alkermes Site Operations department has an opportunity for a full-time Engineering Coordinator. This position will coordinate service and project-related activities for the Site Operations department while providing technical and administrative assistance to other Site Operations team members as directed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the administrative contact / liaison with internal departments and external parties in order to develop engineering requirements and manage resource availability. Develop written documentation and correspondence for the department; screen and evaluate incoming and outgoing responses as appropriate

  • Gather, enter, and/or update data to maintain departmental and equipment records / databases, as appropriate. Establishes and maintains files and records for the department. Responsibilities include administration of the Maximo (CMMS/EAM) system including managing work schedules / work orders as well as keeping the system up-to-date .

  • Ensure high Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards are maintained, while adhering to schedules to meet the business requirements. Assist as needed in regulatory agency inspections.

  • Assist the Engineering team with the creation of specifications and requirements for new equipment and projects.

  • Assist with project development and planning to ensure more efficient service and organization of the department

  • Locate and diagnose failures. Work through process to replaces defective components and including the completion of associated documentation, calibration and follow up tasks.

  • On-Call and Emergency Response. Respond to a variety of problems as they occur. Locate, determine, and correct problem or contact appropriate personnel for assistance. On-Call to respond to emergencies off hours weekly rotation with the rest of site Operations


  • Experience working as an Engineering Coordinator. Previous experience working with an engineering, facilities or technical team is required

  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as sensitivity for handling confidential information are required.

  • Thorough organizational skills to allow multi-task completion without errors

  • Strong office computing skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). Proficiency with Maximo or other Tier One CMMS system preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to schedule, coordinate and supervise contractors for on-site work.

  • Able to develop and manage realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.

  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and possess the ability to work under pressure.

  • Highly motivated, flexible, and efficient, with a focus on process improvement.

  • General knowledge of pharmaceutical operations and equipment validations, in-depth knowledge of facility and utility validations.

  • Must be a quick learner; Able to manage priorities in a demanding, rapidly changing work environment.

  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communications skills; accountable for actions.

  • Ability to manage upwards to ensure daily meeting schedule is maintained and stays on track.

  • Collaborative, team player; pleasant personality, and the ability to be very flexible.

  • Customer service centric approach; service oriented, problem solver


Associates or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent related work experience
