Our Engineering Co-Op program offers engineering students an opportunity to receive extensive training in a variety of engineering environments. As a co-op you will have three rotations, performing work in a variety of functions and product lines. This co-op rotation begins in May/June 2020.

Our co-op program is located at one of our three Twin Cities locations of Shakopee, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie, MN. Co-ops have the opportunity to work in a variety of departments including manufacturing, design, software, supply chain, product management, quality, etc.

The co-op program is available to Engineering students in their Sophomore, Junior & Senior year in the following disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Computer Science

  • Computer Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Industrial Engineering

  • Materials Science & Engineering

  • Software Engineering

Co-Op Rotations: The 3 rotations must be a combination of summer/school semesters. All must be completed before graduation.

Requirements:

GPA of 3.0 or greater

Ability to work full-time (40 hours) in our Twin Cities locations (Shakopee, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie, MN).

Students are responsible for tuition payments that accompany this work assignment.

Responsibilities: Testing: Verify and Validate Designs in a Black Box Environment 60% * Run tests and capture data. Use Excel and Custom Tools. * Record issues. Currently use Atlassian's JIRA to manage tasks and issues. * Investigate and isolate symptoms. Dismiss and connect dependencies. * Report status to mechanical, materials, firmware and software engineering and project management. * Maintain logs. Currently use a Custom tool. Maintenance 20% * Configure systems. * Isolate issues. * Remove and replace components at the board level. * Remove and replace mechanical components. * Install software, firmware and hardware updates. * Update test cases, test data and setups. Administrative 20% * Propose and implement improvements to the test process. * Support queries and requests. * Manage and order supplies. * Maintain lab space and equipment. * Learn, teach and mentor as necessary. Basic Qualifications: * Ultimately our team needs a computer savvy person that is unafraid of configuring environments, editing scripts, collecting and presenting data. Adept in the practical application of search tools to address technical issues and concerns. * 2 year technical degree or a career demonstrating technical aptitude in mechanical, electrical and software disciplines. * Proficient with Microsoft products: Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Windows 10. * Travel Requirements: Up to 25% - Some International travel is expected. * Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US Preferred Qualifications: * Experienced on a schedule driven product development team delivering a complex and multi-discipline product. * Experienced with Lean methods for development and manufacturing. * Experienced with color and monochrome images, laser engraving, magnetic fields, optical verification, RFID and thin layer coatings. * Experience with writing or editing scripts, virtual environments, building and maintaining PCs * Experience with a gated development process * Attributes and Values * Self-directed with a sense of urgency * Focus on the customer * Effective in communication. * Comfortable in working with a team. * Committed to continuously improving themselves and the test process.
