Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Engineering Change Order Coordinator to join our Quality team, in Fremont, CA. In this role, you will own and maintain an ECO Program that ensures a streamlined and seamless engineering product change execution to the production of Velo3D systems. This position drives for and ensures that all responsible internal teams have met their ECO system requirements, completed activities and their specific commitments prior to ECO release. The ECO Coordinator communicates with the engineering, logistics, purchasing and quality teams to ensure that the ECO information and activities are correctly processed and executed. The ECO coordinator organizes all open ECOs and holds weekly change control board (CCB) meetings to review pending ECO status and progression.

The successful Engineering Change Coordinator will have experience of using Agile systems, maintaining BOMs and ECO Systems maintenance.

Typical responsibilities:

  • Drives for ECO closure and coordinates the ECO execution. Ensures timely processing of ECOs through documentation, validation/approval and basic input of materials and drawing information into the Agile and NetSuite systems.

  • Assists with the preparation and implementation of Engineering Change Orders

  • Understands and determines accuracy of BOMs and Engineering masters.

  • Maintains and publishes weekly and monthly reports of department metrics and KPIs.

  • Coordinates ECO activities within the Quality organization and works with other appropriate personnel to resolve problems.

  • Escalates ECO activity that is blocked or stagnant. Escalates Safety/mandatory issues ECO activity to ensure that they are addressed immediately.

  • Verifies ECO documentation packages for completeness and accuracy and follows up on completed ECOs to ensure complete ECO execution.

  • Communicates ECO impact with appropriate personnel including engineering, materials and production. Interact with supplier personnel when appropriate.

  • Holds weekly CCB meetings to process and discuss selected high priority ECOs.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Effectively communicate all open issues to all cognizant personnel to avoid confusion or negative surprises.

  • Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standard.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 7+ years of quality (QMS) experience in an ISO9001 manufacturing environment building hardware products.

  • ECO processing and coordination experience in a manufacturing & design company

  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications and related documentation.

  • Working knowledge of how to navigate PLM and QMS systems (Agile preferred)

  • Proficiency in using Windows operating systems, navigating file trees, and installing software and drivers.

Must Have:

Associates degree or equivalent.A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.Strong working knowledge of bills of materials, change management, change order processes, project data management and technical documentation familiarity.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $80,000 and $87,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
