You will provide local leadership, functional management and technical direction to a team of approximately 6-8 engineers responsible for mechanical engineering research, design, development, and production support for Cable & Harness Design.

You will ensure program technical and schedule requirements are met by staffing, surge resourcing, training, and development of design personnel. Identify and propagate technology selection and best-practices, ensure technical domain expertise of the entire team, drive innovation of process and tool development and deployment, resolve critical technical issues, and ensure metrics are collected and used for continual process improvement. Demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors. Work with LOB's to define staffing requirements, training requirements, and develop mentoring programs and career path opportunities for personnel within the department. Direct, coordinate, perform and exercise authority of staffing requirements and actions, employee job assignments and rotations, merit increases, promotions, compliance & skills training, and performance assessment, and recognition & disciplinary actions.

You will be expected to perform admirably under conditions of rapidly changing priorities, multiple staffing challenges, balancing LOB needs and being prepared to respond to emerging issues. You will also support new business proposals with Basis of Estimates, BOEs. You will report information on technical anomalies and lead investigation teams. You will also be expected to perform mechanical and\or electrical engineering responsibilities related to Harness Design engineering, to include but not limited to 3D CAD modeling, Assembly and Installation drawing creation, reviews and checking of released Harness Design engineering as required.

The successful candidate will be a best-in-class leader in the design of Flight Cable & Harness. The candidate will have extensive experience in Root Cause Analysis, having proven successes in leading investigation teams and implementing Corrective Actions.

The candidate must have demonstrated capability to work with other SSC sites, cross functional teams, and outside suppliers in a formative environment, as evidenced by excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to organize, motivate, and lead large groups of diverse personnel that includes customers, partners, and suppliers that are geographically dispersed.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience in the design and\or production of flight harness design, electro-mechanical assemblies, connectors, cable assemblies, and harness materials & processes

At least 2 years leading a multi-disciplined team, vendor interface, selection, and certification to Company processes experience.

Experience with affordability and continuous improvement engineering efforts.

Demonstrated engagement with central organizations, multi-program and LOB experience. ECAD-MCAD tool usage and improvement activity experience.

Engineering or Program presentation experience to executive leadership and or customers.

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Flight Harness & Cable Design

  • Cable Harness Manufacturing Engineering & Liaison

  • RF Cabling

  • Connector Design

  • Harness Material & Processes

Desired Skills:

Subcontract management experience.

CAM certification or experience with the principles of earned value management.

Experience creating cost and schedule projections or Basis of Estimates (BOE).

Experience with DSRx Implementation and Digital Tapestry.

Proficiency with LM EPDM, SAP, Q-Notes

Experience working with suppliers

Working knowledge of LMSSC command media

Demonstrated commitment to the development of others

Demonstrated success at building strong inclusive teams

We are seeking a System Integration/Test Engineering Associate Manager who will manage the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems.
