The focus of the Engineering Administrator is on maintaining and making accessible product and component information for use by the engineering department and others. The goal is to maintain and enhance the value and accuracy of our engineering information and to minimize non-value-added time spent by others in efforts to obtain information. This role will be in intricate part of the product development and support processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with Product Configurator, BOMs and Part Revisions:

  • Assists with creation and maintenance of Item Masters in M2M.

  • Assists with creation of BOMs for new products.

  • Assists with Materials and Engineering aspects of CORES Configurator, including populating with packets, parts, rules associated with new Product, Product changes, testing, and error correction.

  • Analyzes BOM corrections/revisions for impact on other products.

  • Assists with corrections, revisions, replacements and roll-out of parts.

  • Corrects BOM errors uncovered by Traveler Actions.

  • Marketing Support:

  • Back up for Engineering Data Specialist for identifying parts needed for field change-outs to convert new units to different model numbering.

  • Back up for Engineering Data Specialist for custom units.

  • Assist with WordPress, including DIMS drawing, IOM, and schematic updates for use by CORES and the website.

  • Maintain off-line documentation including but not limited to:

  • Part Specification Files.

  • Collect specific metrics:

  • Monthly collation of new product sales.

  • Other department metrics as assigned.

  • Team member for engineering and production projects as assigned.

  • Production Support:

  • Assists Production Manager, Cell Leads, Commercial Team, and Residential Team with updates to build books, procedures, and drawings.

  • Assists Production Manager, Cell Leads, Commercial Team, and Residential Team with improving existing training processes, training for new products, and training plans.

  • Miscellaneous Support to Department:

  • Create miscellaneous I-jobs in M2M for engineering.

  • Occasional filing and organizing

  • Occasional image creation utilizing Composer

  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Business or equivalent experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years administrative or production support experience is preferred

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel-intermediate to advanced in all areas)

  • Previous experience and good working knowledge of computer/database systems, previous experience with product configurators and/or M2M preferred

Required Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work in an office setting with regular sitting, standing and/or walking, stooping, bending and climbing

  • Occasional production floor visits with ability to see, walk, stoop, bend and climb

  • Must be able to move, lift or carry objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds

We currently are seeking a Project Application Engineer to work at our Waunakee facility. Summary: Be a technical expert for NORD employees and customers on Gearmotor products and applications. Execute projects to improve product accuracy, dissemination of knowledge and assist in product sales effort as required. Focus on key business sectors and large projects Description: Assist sales and customers in proper technical selection and pricing for large projects and special applications in key/target industries and high potential accounts. Upon order, ensure engineered projects are entered into NORD workflow and production system with required features, modifications, etc. (Involvement from quote to commissioning) Assist customer service, sales and customers in proper selection, use and maintenance of NORD products. Work with US and German resources to engineer products to meet special customer requirements. Work with vendors to specify/source special components. Work with local and Global management to determine special pricing for projects and international accounts. Communicate market demand for design enhancements, product requirements, etc. Implement proper control documentation and procedures to assure products are correctly manufactured, assembled, selected and tailored (i.e. modified) for specific applications. Provide calculations and create calculation templates for complex/detailed applications. Utilize NORD software to analyze gear life, bearing life, shaft life, failures, etc. Prepare or assist in materials for training on NORD. Provide training as required. Review/design/calculate complex applications or product modifications. Travel with Sales team to assist with technical presentations/discussions. Assist with marketing material as needed. Customer training, startup assistance and service calls as required when related to projects Qualifications: Four year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree required 5+ years of direct experience in Power Transmission market required AutoCAD/Inventor experience (or the ability to learn) to review NORD and Customer supplied drawings. Familiarity with Inverters/Variable frequency Drives and basic knowledge of industrial motor wiring. Work well with customers in a friendly manner. Ability to communicate technical concepts in writing and verbally.
