The focus of the Engineering Administrator is on maintaining and making accessible product and component information for use by the engineering department and others. The goal is to maintain and enhance the value and accuracy of our engineering information and to minimize non-value-added time spent by others in efforts to obtain information. This role will be in intricate part of the product development and support processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with Product Configurator, BOMs and Part Revisions:

  • Assists with creation and maintenance of Item Masters in M2M.

  • Assists with creation of BOMs for new products.

  • Assists with Materials and Engineering aspects of CORES Configurator, including populating with packets, parts, rules associated with new Product, Product changes, testing, and error correction.

  • Analyzes BOM corrections/revisions for impact on other products.

  • Assists with corrections, revisions, replacements and roll-out of parts.

  • Corrects BOM errors uncovered by Traveler Actions.

  • Marketing Support:

  • Back up for Engineering Data Specialist for identifying parts needed for field change-outs to convert new units to different model numbering.

  • Back up for Engineering Data Specialist for custom units.

  • Assist with WordPress, including DIMS drawing, IOM, and schematic updates for use by CORES and the website.

  • Maintain off-line documentation including but not limited to:

  • Part Specification Files.

  • Collect specific metrics:

  • Monthly collation of new product sales.

  • Other department metrics as assigned.

  • Team member for engineering and production projects as assigned.

  • Production Support:

  • Assists Production Manager, Cell Leads, Commercial Team, and Residential Team with updates to build books, procedures, and drawings.

  • Assists Production Manager, Cell Leads, Commercial Team, and Residential Team with improving existing training processes, training for new products, and training plans.

  • Miscellaneous Support to Department:

  • Create miscellaneous I-jobs in M2M for engineering.

  • Occasional filing and organizing

  • Occasional image creation utilizing Composer

  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Business or equivalent experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years administrative or production support experience is preferred

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel-intermediate to advanced in all areas)

  • Previous experience and good working knowledge of computer/database systems, previous experience with product configurators and/or M2M preferred

Required Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work in an office setting with regular sitting, standing and/or walking, stooping, bending and climbing

  • Occasional production floor visits with ability to see, walk, stoop, bend and climb

  • Must be able to move, lift or carry objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds

This person will work closely with the Engineering Manager - Motor Control Products to maintain a high level of NORD product knowledge. Responsibilities include: Understanding the Control Products development pipeline, including the US new product launch schedule from the Engineering Manager - Control Products. Develop and implement a sales strategy for Control Products. Develop mechanism for tracking the conversion process using CRM and determining when targets have been converted or are no longer valid. Give pre-sale selection and application assistance for variable frequency inverters and inverter/vector duty motors. Assist the Engineering Manager – Control Products in the creation of sales tools, marketing documentation, product launches, OEM planning, and internal/external training activities. Provide Engineering Manager – Control Products feedback on product development needs that he or she can present to German product development. Qualify target accounts presented by sales team. Assign the Engineering Manager – Control Products and his team target accounts as required consistent with his availability. Participate and help coordinate sales calls to targets with control application engineers. Work with local and global Industry Management and Key Account Management teams to gain user specification. Develop customer and Nord sales representative relationships. Coordinate with mechanical engineering team as required on mechatronic solutions Provide quotations. Conduct application verification. Job Requirements: Education: BSEE, BSET, or BSME or equivalent experience Experience: 5+ years’ experience in the Application and Sales of High Performance AC Inverter Drives/motor controllers Knowledgeable in related power and automation system components such as motors, reducers, PLCs, HMIs, I/O components Has a successful track record of converting high volume OEM accounts Familiar with standard industrial sales channels and customer classes Skills & Key Attributes: Ability to quickly establish credibility at all levels of target customer’s organizations by having a comprehensive technical understanding of NORD’s control products and how to apply them. This includes C-Level executives and Control Products Engineering Managers.
