Job Description:
Title: Engineering Adjunct Professor
Unit: DCE
Department: STEM
Reports To: Dean of STEM, Radiologic Technology, and Program Partnerships
Date: March 2024
General:
Instructor for Engineering courses such as Engineering Design, Engineering Fundamentals, circuits classes, and others, in accordance with description published in Roxbury Community College catalog. Responsibilities include giving lectures and guiding laboratory assignments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide instruction of his/her assigned course(s)
Responsible for creating a classroom environment which fosters students' academic growth and guides their professional development.
Responsible for the creation and revision of daily lesson plans.
Responsible for accurate record keeping of student attendance and academic progress.
Correct and return quizzes, tests and lab assignments in a timely manner to students.
Utilize instructional and audiovisual aids, and all available resources.
Follow a syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
Meets with and advises students before and after class or by appointment.
Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs students in a timely manner of their progress.
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States
Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
Teaching experience at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds who possess wide ranges of academic abilities and interests.
Experience working with High school age, Dual enrollment or Early college students.
Familiarity with Canvas, Jenzabar or similar Learning Management System.
Teaching Experience at a Community College.
Demonstrated ability to provide diverse teaching methods to different learning styles.
Experience with Online teaching and OER.
Familiarity with Solidworks or Fusion 360
Additional Information:
Salary: The Adjunct Faculty salary range is determined in accordance with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Start Date: Spring 2024
