Cirrus Design Corporation, manufacturer of FAA certified small aircraft, seeks applicants for a Senior Avionics/Electrical Systems Engineer at its location in Duluth, MN. Position includes integration and testing of electronic equipment and electrical systems to meet safety, performance and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include identifying requirements, detail design & installation, test case development, execution and troubleshooting, and generating certification plans and reports.

Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, plus 5 years' experience in automotive, aviation, or heavy equipment industries, providing engineering support for development and manufacturing of components, to include gathering project requirements, defining electrical system for new products, designing electrical components and wiring systems, including harnesses, sensors, switches, cable routings, performing quality checks with 3D models, and use of Creo Pro-E design software. 2 references required; experience and education will be verified.

VIEW JOBS 7/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-10T00:00 Job Summary: Responsible for the continued electrical systems development and design for FAA certified single engine aircraft. Perform detail design and analysis activity conducted in the area of electrical systems design and integration. Essential Duties: * Responsible for the design, testing, certification, and ongoing engineering support of various aspects of aircraft electrical systems such as power generation and storage, power distribution, wire harness design, etc. * Lead small teams of electrical engineers on complex projects. * Mentor junior electrical engineers technically. * Support mechanical and avionics systems with electrical integration details, including circuit design and analysis and electromagnetic effects/radiated field analysis and troubleshooting. * Coordinate design development and system integration with subcontractors. * Generate certification plans and reports to meet FAR Part 23 requirements. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. * Approximately 6-10 years' experience in a related field. * Experience in the following preferred: * Aircraft or automotive electrical system design * Circuit board design and analysis * Power generation and distribution * Use of lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition equipment * Experience using CREO, Matlab, Eagle, VBA, or similar programs * Working in a multifunction team * Performing trade studies for alternative design concepts * Reading and writing technical documents, such as design specifications, analysis reports, test plans, and test reports. * Presenting design reviews to peers and management * Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
