Northrop Grumman has an exciting opportunity for a Software Tester to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Helena, Montana.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Systems Management operating unit, which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, State, and Local government clients.

Primary responsibilities will focus on system testing of mainframe and web-based applications. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, develop, and manage testing documentation

  • Develop lifecycle documents, including Test Plans, Test Checklists, User Manual, Agile User Stories, and Defect documentation.

  • Interface with management and provide various reports on a regular basis

  • Reverse engineer and create testing documents from an existing system by reviewing various types of software code

  • Design, create, execute, document test scenarios, test cases, and test results

  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a frequent basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 Years of relevant work experience OR Master's degree and 1 Year of relevant work experience OR a minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered

  • Minimum of 1 year of designing, creating, executing, documenting test scenarios, test cases, and test results

  • Minimum of 1 year of combined experience in 2 or more of the following:

  • Developing lifecycle documents, including Use Cases, Detailed Functional Requirements, Detailed Design Specifications, and Software Requirement Specifications

  • Ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis.

  • Must be able to pass a background check, including FBI fingerprint check and National Agency check - ability to obtain and maintain National Agency check for continued employment

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder) to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Reverse engineering and creating requirements documents for an existing system (as is scenario) by reviewing any type of software code or development background.

  • Knowledge of automated testing tools

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Business Intelligence and Visualization tools (Tableau, Pentaho)

  • Knowledge of relational databases

  • Experience with front and back end web based applications and familiar with various web service technologies.

  • Experience in developing test cases and writing SQL queries to validate the data and application.

  • Possess technical writing skills and able to review others' work products.

We are looking for a Big Data Engineer that will put their experience and passion for data to work as part of the Montana State Fund IT Enterprise Applications team. Do you enjoy the process of designing and creating data pipelines by extracting data from external sources and ingesting into Hadoop? How about the process of preparing and transforming data within the Hadoop ecosystem while predominantly using Informatica Big Data Management (BDM)? About the Role Independently and interdependently design and implement complex technical solutions. Apply principles of engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of the enterprise solutions and systems. Provide technical leadership for highly complex business analytics or insurance products and projects, as well as, deliver superior business value to enterprise stakeholders. What You'll Do * Provides technical solutions for insurance products or data applications; defines, analyzes and creates solutions for projects utilizing various development methodologies. Work in a matrixed project team of insurance business SMEs and on/off shore technical experts in developing the solution design, completing assigned tasks, tracking progress and verifying completion of assignments according to development standards. Identifies issues / risks, escalates and reports to appropriate levels of stakeholders. (40%) * Analyze, design and develop artifacts according to best practices, standards and specifications. (30%) * Analyze existing systems built on MSF technologies for improvements and evaluate proposed systems for feasibility and architectural compliance.
