Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Engineer Systems. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the GBSD program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What you'll get to do:

  • Designs, develops, integrates and tests displays, controls and software functionality for use in high fidelity model based system including a combination of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and original SW to provide system functionality.

  • Develops and maintains databases to monitor and analyze system performance

  • Collaborates with System, Test and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met

  • Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices

  • Performs code quality management and corrects defects

  • Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression test once defects are corrected

  • Knowledge of deployment automation tools such as chef, puppet or Ansible

  • Basic experience level with working in a fast pace, agile environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

  • Familiarity with COTS configuration and integration, Java/C/C++ development and/or front-end web development including JavaScript Frameworks (Angular JS or React), HTML, and CSS

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

  • Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)

  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework

  • SAFe for Lean Enterprises.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with a BS - Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM ; 0 years with a Masters.

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 5 years.

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Ability to understand and interpret requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Experience developing testing criteria to satisfy requirements

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework

  • SAFe for Lean Enterprises

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to all parts of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle

  • Experience in Linux environment

  • Experience writing automated tests

  • Experience in Agile team environment

  • Experience with shell and/or python scripting

Salary Range: $74,900.00 - $112,300.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. The Boeing PAC-3 program is developing a new design of the seeker and looking for a Mid-level Radar Systems Engineer! This position is located at the Boeing Jetplex facility in Huntsville, Alabama. Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) program is an air-defense, missile system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing's seekers provide active data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future and well-being, driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems. Position Responsibilities: * Development of algorithms for radar signal processing techniques such as Kalman filtering, probabilistic and statistical modeling, and measurement processing from pulsed-Doppler waveforms. * Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the complex Seeker system. * Conducts analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance and/or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targets. * Design of algorithms aimed to process signal returns into discriminated targets and track targets through mission timeline. * Conducts analysis on algorithm performance with a focus on survivability, vulnerability, and susceptibility to identify necessary modifications to ensure mission success. * Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for planning, implementation and monitoring of requirements, tools, and technology assessments. * Review and modify the application of general digital signal processing techniques to the processing of reradiated signal content to ensure accurate signal characteristic identification. * Ability and willingness to teach and mentor young engineers and inexperienced DSP/algorithm engineers through regular knowledge transfers. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
