Position OverviewProvides electrical or mechanical engineering support to implement production equipment and / or systems. Responsibilities- Investigates, researches, and/or analyzes new technology and existing equipment/systems to determine need for modification/improvement and the feasibility of introducing new equipment or processes.

  • Plans and/or designs automated production equipment or systems, such as instruments, controls, machines, and mechanical or electrical systems, by applying knowledge of engineering principles.

  • Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analyses, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment. Orders necessary materials for in-house projects.

  • Designs, develops, assembles, and tests prototype equipment/systems for new/improved functions and/or processes. Analyzes data to verify efficiency/reliability of prototypes.

  • Researches and interprets industry consensus standards to determine applicability to current and future equipment and / or processes (ANSI, RIA, NFPA, etc).

  • Coordinates and /or performs Risk Assessments to ensure equipment & processes are built to in compliance with OSHA and industry consensus standards (ANSI, RIA, NFPA, etc).

  • Plans and coordinates layout of manufacturing plant to maximize operating efficiency. Performs cycle time studies and analyzes flow of people, parts and products through the facility to determine effectiveness of current equipment/methods and identify areas for improvement. Coordinates fabrication and testing of new equipment/systems for in-house projects. Coordinates and communicates with affected departments throughout the development / implementation process.

  • Coordinates vendor activities and oversees installation process to ensure adherence to schedule and to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Conducts communicates with affected departments throughout implementation process. Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition. Creates appropriate documentation.

  • Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and systems.

  • Troubleshoots equipment problems. Reviews, verifies, and approves vendor supplied drawings, schematics, panel layouts, process drawings, PLC/HMI programming and / or system architecture drawings.

  • Creates detailed schematics, panel layouts, assembly, component drawings and/or system architecture drawings for in-house projects. Creates and verifies associated BOMS, spare parts list, procedures, and/or PLC / HMI programs. Updates schematics, drawings and/or documentation to as-built conditions. Develops and conducts equipment training programs and demonstrates skills to members.

  • Develops implementation alternatives/options.

  • Reviews contractor proposals with Purchasing and evaluates vendors and proposed equipment. Makes recommendations regarding how project should be implemented.

  • Recommends implementation alternatives/options and proposes them to management for review and approval.

  • May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects. Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent 8-12 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.

You'll work with a team of network performance engineers focused on defining, building the reporting, and the detailed analysis of network element and user experience key performance indicators (KPIs) for our 4G and 5G networks and services. * Focusing on the 4G, and next generation 5G, Evolved Packet Core (EPC) elements and understanding/evaluating end-to-end performance from a user application to destination on the Internet and also VoLTE voice services. Detailed understanding of call flows and packet analysis is a key function. * Defining and developing creative and insightful reporting analytics. Automation and incorporation of anomaly detection in the reporting is key for efficiency. * Working with cross functional teams (engineering, operations/network assurance, planning, network systems) on new network architectures, elements, features, and tools/reporting systems. Virtualization and Edge systems are examples of some current efforts. What we're looking for... You'll need to have * Bachelor's degree or four or one more years of work experience. * Four or more years of relevant work experience. * Knowledge of LTE / VoLTE network architecture, EPC elements, and call flows. Even better if you have: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or similar. * Five or more years of relevant work experience. * Demonstrated strong technical knowledge and experience working with various data network protocols such as TCP, UDP, QUIC and application performance analysis using tools such as Netscout IrisView and nG1, and Wireshark. * Demonstrated strong technical knowledge and experience working with SIP and RTP protocols and performance analysis using tools such as Netscout IrisView and nG1, and Wireshark. * Demonstrated understanding and experience using programming languages such as Python, R, JavaScript and SQL-type APIs for data analysis, automating tasks, and presentation of the analysis on internal websites and automated reports. * Demonstrated understanding and experience using business intelligence tools such as Tableau for analysis and data visualizations. * Knowledge and demonstrated experience of statistical analysis and/or anomaly detection algorithms. * Demonstrated track record of handling and prioritizing projects, being a self-starter, and focused on delivering results.
