Oshkosh Access is a segment of Oshkosh Corporation, which is a Fortune 350, multi-billion dollar company. At Oshkosh Corporation we are dedicated to designing and building the world's toughest specialty trucks and truck bodies and access equipment by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who use them.
Provides analytical and test support for new vehicles and vehicle systems. Communicates and coordinates directly with OSK departmental staff including Product-line Design, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Marketing, as well as vendors and consultants, on a regular basis. Must be able to purvey concepts and findings clearly and concisely by means of drawings, sketches, oral, and written communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Determine detailed requirements regarding instrumentation, fixtures and procedures related to testing of vehicles and/or systems to verify design parameters are met
2.Communicate essential details of test requirement to test technicians. Oversee fabrication of fixtures and test set-up. Oversee conduct of test. Collect and analyze test data
3.Report status on a timely basis and communicate final results and recommendations to staff members as required
4.Generate test plans for vehicle programs, systems and components
5.Investigate field service problems, perform failure analysis and establish corrective measures. Support development effort towards meeting appropriate criteria and standards
6.Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, or production build
7.Utilize state-of-the-art engineering tools, i.e., Personal Computers, Computer Aided Design equipment, in assigned projects as needed
8.Use reasonable foresight to identify vehicle operation and maintenance risks and control them within acceptable limits
9.Support off site test programs to include travel as necessary to accomplish assigned engineering programs
10. Supervise technicians and other assigned technical staff maintaining a high awareness and standard of safety
