Engineer

Impact

As our Engineer you will build, manage, and enhance systems and services that power the shopper payments and compliance experience. Every day you will work on a team of 5-6 engineers to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain application code using Golang, Python, Redis, Postgres, and Kafka in a microservices architecture. You will work with our product and operation teams to solve different challenges in Shopper Wallet and Performance.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

• 2+ years of software development experience building large, scalable, microservice applications in the cloud.

• You know how to develop backend software applications using object-oriented programming languages and design patterns.

• You are passionate about software development, learning different domain knowledge, and solving machine learning problems.

• You are able to effectively collaborate across different teams and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• You enjoy mentoring and learning from other engineers.

• You are able to design and interact with complex persisted data models.

• You are a self-directed individual that enjoys freedom in your work.

• You are able to identify and improve poor performing code or database queries.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Seattle and New York City:

$74,732-$149,463

Metro Areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco:

$115,763.35-$149,463

All other locations:

$62,186-$124,481

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
