This position is to develop and support with new methods and leading products that are upcoming in the market trends. The position is to support developments for next generation sizing of components & support with newer developed technology for the future.
Support on a daily basis the DOS activity with guidance for problem solving & continuous improvement
Assist root cause analysis of FTQ, ISIR, Defect-On-Arrival
Instrumental in deviation and permeant change to improve drawings & PPAP reviews
Follow up-coming market trends to support and develop products where the company has no product
Using existing current designs develop new process or methods to more effectively assemble components
Support developing products for production release.
Proposes and critiques design concepts for cost savings initiatives with issue resolution
Provides input to redesign components for optimization.
Effectively promote and maintain design integrity.
Interface with support personnel responsible for product design, test, development, inspection, and manufacture.
Responsible for utilizing the resources of the various support groups to provide an optimized design which can be manufactured economically and without difficulty.
Responsible for organizing axle components for build and delivery to support required testing components for deviation and permeant changes to improve design and quality.
Support in the Advanced Program Quality Planning (APQP) requirements to integrate the DFMEA causes into PFMEA formulation
Communicate all engineering and development issues as needed to Dana internal functions including but not limited to; Program Management, Sales, Quality, Warranty, & Engineering Management.
Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates with other engineering degrees such as manufacturing, industrial or aeronautical with strong experience in product design.
A minimum of five years of experience in design or manufacture of axle components and assemblies or automotive industry.
Excellent mechanical aptitude, along with strong analytical capability.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within Dana in a professional manner.
Prior project management experience with strong customer relationship skills
Must have strong project management/follow-up skills in order to organize multiple responsibilities and meet multiple deadlines.
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office and knowledge of Lotus notes.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Must be self-directed and motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility.
Willing and able to work excess hours when necessary.
Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally
