About our group:
The Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG) is responsible for characterization of advanced recording head technologies for Seagate's HDD products. The Reader CAG team focuses on performance and reliability testing of the magnetoresistive tunneling devices that read magnetic bits.
About the role - you will:
Measure performance and reliability of new reader designs using quasi-static and dynamic electrical testing
Collaborate with design groups on test plans for new design concepts
Provide in-depth analysis of benefits or problems with advanced reader designs
Perform electrical failure analysis testing of problem heads
Develop new electrical test methods and metrics to better characterize reader designs and failure modes
About you:
Ph.D. in an engineering or scientific discipline with 0-2 years of experience.
Experience with electrical test equipment or test system development
Knowledge of magnetic recording, nano-magnetism, or magnetic devices

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
