Roles and Responsibilities:

Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

Collaborates with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline.

Five (5) years of related experience in manufacturing, design, or quality engineering.

Experience reading and understanding technical drawings.

Experience performing product/process audits for deficiencies.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, and able to obtain a special access clearance.

Must have good verbal communication skills and have experience working with customers.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:

Bachelor's Degree in STEM discipline.

Nine (9) Years of related experience in manufacturing, design, or quality engineering.

Experience reading and understanding technical drawings.

Experience performing product/process audits for deficiencies.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance, and able to obtain a special access clearance.

Must have good verbal communication skills and have experience working with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

Current DOD secret clearance, and able to obtain a special access clearance.

Certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

SAP and /or Solumina experience.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4 based on qualifications listed.

Your Responsibilities * Provide senior level electrical engineering design. * Be able to lead, supervise and mentor Designer level staff on all of their responsibilities. * Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of electrical engineering for project delivery. * Responsible for meeting firms engineering quality levels for the discipline on assigned projects. * Oversees and is integral to the development of design concepts by Designers, and ensure proper application and execution. * Verifies designer's work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings. * Mentors and encourages development of Designer level staff. * Responsible for applying firms risk management practices of project engineering. * Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours. * Perform front-end loading of Electrical systems for projects. * Edits and develops basis of design narratives documenting project scope. * Apply best practices to set the proper direction of the project in SDs and DDs. * Leads and is an integral part of the design team to produce construction documents and specifications that meet the project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget. * Is an integral design team member facilitating completion of project construction administration tasks including RFI and submittal review and response. * Meets the project objectives while minimizing erroneous efforts. * Encourages collaboration to seek the best solutions. * Writes studies and reports for Electrical systems on projects. * Can operate and/or have an understanding of lighting calculation and electrical power analysis software (i.e. AGI 32, SKM Power Tools and Energy Pro). * Executes complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination. * Contributes to revisions of company design standards and master specifications related to the Market Sector * Expert in specific Electrical requirements for applications within a market sector(s). * Evaluates Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk. Job Requirements The Skills and Knowledge You Bring * BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree. * At least seven (7) plus years of related Electrical Engineering experience. * Registered Professional Engineer in the state of California. * Experience in designing Laboratories, Science & Technology facilities. * Experience in designing Healthcare facilities. OSHPD experience is a plus. * Engineering knowledge and design skills in developing Lighting and Power systems, including an understanding of low voltage/signal systems. * Prior experience in preparing proposals and leading a team of designers. * Strong communication skills - written and oral; * Experience dealing with various clients and fostering a positive relationship with these parties.
