Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Quality Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The selected candidate will support Joint STARS aircraft, Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM).
Perform Quality Engineering and Program Quality related activities utilizing skills and knowledge in engineering and/ or quality
Perform and support day to day Quality requirements, i.e. product and process audits, Safety of Flight inspections, and MRB document reviews
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
Independently analyze nonconformance and non-compliances to review and determine effective root cause analysis and identify process improvement opportunities
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards
Identify and assess program processes and provide evaluation of processes and products assuring they are developed and executed in accordance with Northrop Grumman contractual requirements and internal processes
Review procurement/contractual documents (Statements of Work, Specifications, drawings, USAF Technical Orders, Quality Plans, etc.) to ensure compliance to customer/government contractual requirements
The selected candidate must have a knowledge and experience with Material Review Board Activities (MRB) and aircraft structure
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Minimum of 2 years of Material Review Board (MRB) experience in aircraft structures and or systems
An Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance
Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Management
Familiar with Joint STARS aircraft structures and systems
Familiar with Boeing 707 aircraft structure
Familiar with USAF technical orders
Familiar with Boeing Technical Data
Familiar with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations
FAA airframe and power plant (A&P) License
Prior Aircraft Inspection experience
Ability to occasionally enter confined spaces e.g. Boeing 707 Fuel Tanks
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint
