Due to our continued growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Process Engineer in Shakopee, MN.

General Summary:

  • Provide technical direction to all phases of developing new processes in order to improve quality, reduce costs and maximize production that will establish the company as a world class low-cost quality producer.

  • Plan, develop, organize, manage, and coordinate specific project assignments in order to develop manufacturing processes that improve productivity, increase yields, and reduce scrap.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion identifying, evaluating, developing, and implementating productivity and cost improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes that increase profitability, increase throughput, and support other company goals.

  • Maintain technical and process information on product specification drawings by analyzing current process for change, review new product specifications in order to reduce start-up scrap, minimize downtime and improve quality.

  • Improve machine efficiencies by analyzing manufacturing process for excessive scrap, machine downtime and poor quality in order to improve downtime, quality, machine productivity and product yields.

  • Provide technical support to Product Engineering and Material Engineering by assisting in raw material evaluations, new product development, and product improvement in order to improve costs, improve quality and improve customer lead times.

  • Assist in production line layout and design by formulating specifications, implementing capital requests and selecting contractors or vendors so that equipment design, layout and purchase can be completed according to specification, on time and within budget.

  • Provide and maintain accurate, up-to-date work instructions and documentation that is stored in a secure, accessible environment. Respond to customer requests for documentation updates.

  • Manage project budgets and spending such that cost objectives and commitments are met.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years' experience or a Master's Degree with at least 2 years' experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Perform statistical and process capability analysis

  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion

  • Experience terminating fiber optic connectors. This to include optical or electrical testing, epoxy dispensing and curing, end face polishing and inspecting along with and understanding of the associated tooling and equipment.

  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment

Preferred Skills

  • Fluent in Spanish

  • Functional in SAP CS1

  • Green / Black belt certified

  • Solid works proficient

Your Experience Includes: * HDD product development experience including multi-disciplinary leadership roles * Feedback/feed-forward control schemes implementation * HDD servo electronics integration and validation experience including knowledge of ASIC (ARM) micro-processors, voice coil/spindle motor power device, read/write head preamp, and servo demodulator hardware * Servo code development processes including version control software * MATLAB and Assembly, C/C++ programming experience * Experience with logic analyzers, scopes, trace tools, data collection tools, debug tools, and data analysis techniques * BS degree in relevant field and 10+ years of related experience You might also have: * Coursework/knowledge of advanced closed loop control schemes * Knowledge and/or experience of risk management techniques including FMEA * Knowledge of Perforce software version control system * Experience in HDD and/or related industry.
