Job Description

Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team and provide network architecture expertise to the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) team located at Hurlburt Field, FL. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge and networking experience and would be an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional seeking to contribute to a challenging and rewarding project.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Work effectively and expeditiously with a team of systems engineers, cyber security professionals, cloud engineers, and fellow network engineers to build the World Warfighter Network for AFSOC.

Design and plan wired & wireless network systems, network services, and mobile devices using various vendor configurations/technologies.

Establish remote-site connectivity through Defense Information Systems Agency WAN circuits and commercial internet service providers.

Provide feedback on work priorities, milestones, and requirements.

Create and update detailed schematics for network architectures.

Coordinate with IA and ISSO to resolve network security requirements, network anomalies and cyber security conflicts.

Provide specifics, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

Research, evaluate, and brief new network technologies and latest network design methods to enhance capabilities of the network.

Create standardized procedures and instructions on how to conduct network operation, administration, and maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have 9 years of experience with Bachelor of Science in computer science, network engineering, or a related field; 7 years experience with Masters in related field, 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years experience.

Experience configuring, troubleshooting, testing, and implementing tactical and in-garrison networks. Such as LAN, CAN, WAN, MPLS.

Experience with IPSec, SSL/TLS tunnels, HAIPE encryptors, CSfC.

Experience with DoD and/or AFSOC network and circuit provisioning and points of contact.

Current CCNA or JNCIA-Junos certification.

Current Linux Professional Institute Linux Engineer Certification (LPIC-2:Linux Engineer) or equivalent.

Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.

Experience with Juniper SRX Firewalls.

Experience with Certificate Authority, Certificate Revocation List, PKI.

Experience with on-premise/cloud connectivity.

Experience with designing, configuring, deploying, and securing wired and wireless networks.

Experience with SSH, ACLs, AAA, SNMPv3, Syslog, SFTP or SCP

Experience with Aruba wireless technology such as ClearPass, Virtual Mobility Conductor, Virtual Mob9iltiy Controller, Airwave.

Experience developing and implementing connectivity for major enterprise-wide IT systems.

Experience in researching and implementing Secuity Requirements Guides (SRG)s and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)s.

Familiar with Air Force Instructions that govern: ATO, ATC, AO, CSA.

Experience with Network Hierarchical Model and Network Services.

Experience in configuring, troubleshooting, and implementing National Security Agency (NSA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NOST), DoD, Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) network, security standards.

Ability to obtain Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Master Certification.

Must have a current Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level2 certification.

Must hold a current or active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience Cyber Security network detection and prevention methods

• In-depth understanding of the OSI model and Layers 1-7 protocols

• Familiarity with MDM/MCM

• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization

• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g Python, YAML, JSON)

• Knowledge of Networking APIs)

• AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification

• Organizational and mentoring skill

• RF and Radio Gateway experience

• Software Defined Networking experience

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs in order to install network components.
