The primary role of Engineering function is to apply advance skills and knowledge of manufacturing engineering discipline to develop and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documents, in order to meet the current and future production volume, quality, OHS and cost requirements. Key deliverables include conducting prototyping and verification activities to determine the feasibility/suitability of a design. Assists in the development, execution, and testing of new and existing products.

Let's talk about Responsibilities

  • Implement manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documents to meet current and future production volume and delivery requirements

  • Assess and implement improvements on current processes, equipment and technologies for longer-term manufacturing requirements.

  • Support maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical and/or automated systems including: Pneumatics, Servo Motors, Vision Systems, Robotics, etc.

  • Utilize complex blueprints and schematics and troubleshoot/analyze problems.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing issues with a sense of urgency to prevent line down situations, and implement countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns.

  • Ensures effective preventative maintenance plans and schedules for equipment and systems.

  • Provide assistance in the configuration maintenance modifications and system upgrades.

  • Analyze current processes to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Collaborates with third party machine/automation suppliers and/or CM's; serve as a technical resource to other engineering groups and project leaders

  • Identify & implement GMP, Six-Sigma LEAN improvement actions.

  • Acquire data and interpret through statistical analyses; partner with internal cross-functional teams to review data and provide recommendations on business process improvement opportunities.

  • Promote a safe working environment by following OH&S guidelines as well as implementing & closing out actions for the continual improvement of work place safety.

  • Introduce & maintain production procedures.

  • Complete process validation activities & documentation.

Let's Talk about Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. in mechanical or mechatronic engineering or equivalent

  • 3 years of experience in related field of Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience in volume manufacturing.

  • Experience with design software (AutoCad, Solidworks)

  • Mechanical aptitude and excellent analytical skills are required. You will be expected to understand advanced automation systems, and be able to troubleshoot problems, suggest improvements and implement these changes in a production environment.

  • Experience with process qualification and validation within a regulated Quality System environment.

  • Experience with continuous improvement, maintaining Configuration control, line balancing, and Kanban practices.

  • Familiar with Quality System Regulations for medical devices.

  • Knowledge and experience in the application of SPC and related statistical techniques.

  • Must be able to work with other disciplines such as production, maintenance technicians, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers and management in a cooperative, collaborative and professional manner

  • Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is:

74,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD Annual
