Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Azusa, CA!

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and developing mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, and vacuum chamber pumps, mechanical, thermal heat transfer systems for production testing, structural test fixtures, and measurements. The engineer will be required to acquire, document, review, and interpret requirements and specifications. From these requirements, the engineer will design and develop the solution and produce plans and procedures. They must be able to contribute ideas to overall system design and collaborate closely with staff.

The candidate will have mechanical manufacturing experience. The candidate will be required to operate test systems and test equipment to verify the performance of integrated electro/optical/mechanical, vacuum systems, vibration systems and thermal cycle systems. The candidate must demonstrate strong work ethics, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill sets. Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing test systems

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

  • Experience developing test plans, schedules, and other project documentation

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance or higher. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience working with mechanical CAD systems such as CREO

  • Experience with LabView development

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) is currently looking for a multi-disciplined engineer that has familiarity with reviewing system requirements and creating test plans and test procedures based on those requirements. The engineer will perform electrical integration, ambient functional tests and system performance tests (in a thermal vacuum environment). The engineer will generate scripts (automation) for functional and system performance testing. In the course of testing, the engineer will be involved in troubleshooting HW/SW issues. The engineer will provide communication throughout the team members through status reports. The engineer will conduct customer presentations such as Test Readiness Reviews and Data Reviews. At the end of the tests, the engineer will write test reports. The engineer will need to support multiple shifts during 24/7 test events. This role requires ability to troubleshoot problems and find possible root causes related to test equipment, unit under test and test procedures. Also requires the ability to provide accurate and concise status reports Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) * Minimum of 2 years of experience in test engineering * Basic Thermal Environment understanding * Basic electrical engineering understanding (voltage, current, and Resistance) * Electrical Integration and Test Product Development Experience(ability to generate and/or modify test plans, and procedures) * Ability to support multiple shifts during 24/7 test events * Current DoD Secret clearance must be held and maintained. U.S.Citizenship is required.
