Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Azusa, CA!
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and developing mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, and vacuum chamber pumps, mechanical, thermal heat transfer systems for production testing, structural test fixtures, and measurements. The engineer will be required to acquire, document, review, and interpret requirements and specifications. From these requirements, the engineer will design and develop the solution and produce plans and procedures. They must be able to contribute ideas to overall system design and collaborate closely with staff.
The candidate will have mechanical manufacturing experience. The candidate will be required to operate test systems and test equipment to verify the performance of integrated electro/optical/mechanical, vacuum systems, vibration systems and thermal cycle systems. The candidate must demonstrate strong work ethics, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill sets. Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
2 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing test systems
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
Experience developing test plans, schedules, and other project documentation
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance or higher. U.S. Citizenship is required.
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Experience working with mechanical CAD systems such as CREO
Experience with LabView development
