Astro Aerospace, a Strategic Business Unit of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, is currently in search of a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Manufacturing group in our Oxnard, CA facilities. Astro is the industry leader in space deployable systems, and since 1958, has enabled complex missions to Earth orbit, Mars and beyond with innovative deployable space structures and mechanisms. Our products have been successfully deployed on hundreds of space missions with 100% success.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in maintaining the production schedule.

  • Document manufacturing procedures that define sequence of operations and manufacturing requirements for product builds.

  • Create purchase requisitions for required purchase components.

  • Provide guidance to Engineering team regarding design concepts to ensure best manufacturing technique is being used. Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible.

  • Reduce build times and program costs during assembly.

  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related Engineering field with at least two (2) years of manufacturing experience.

  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and 3D models.

  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.

  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of personnel, leadership, clients and vendors.

  • Ability to provide results to are innovative, thorough, practical and consistent with organizational objectives.

  • Ability to provide a hands-on approach to technical issues and act as the technical representative for the Manufacturing organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience using Solidworks.

VIEW JOBS 5/23/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-21T00:00 Description The City of Oxnard's Information Technology Department is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Analyst to be a part of a team of dynamic individuals focused on realizing the Department's vision of "Information Anywhere" for all City residents, businesses, and employees by driving a "cloud first" strategy and focusing on foundational network infrastructure including ubiquitous high-speed Internet. This position is in the Department's Communications & Security Systems Division which supports the City's telecommunications networks including the Internet, voice, data, video, and unified communications; security applications and systems including their infrastructure; and mobile devices with associated applications. The Division is also leading the development and deployment of a fiber-based high-speed broadband network utilizing the City's fiber network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational excellence of the City's telecommunications, security systems and mobile devices ensuring reliability, high performance, and secure operations. This position will manage, implement and support telecommunications including unified communication systems, leased lines, VoIP, legacy telephone systems and contact center platforms; security systems including video surveillance, video management and access control systems; mobile devices including devices, applications, device management software and security; manage associated projects by working closely with product development teams and business management to set and achieve service level targets; build solutions that incorporate capabilities for rapid problem detection and resolution including escalation policies used by network operations center staff and incident response teams. The ideal candidate will possess experience with cloud-based SaaS or PaaS system deployments, management and administration; VoIP/Unified Communications/Hosted voice or PBX; Google G-Suite including Google Voice, Mobile Device Management (MDM), and device security; Mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, and Chromebooks including hardware, software, security, management and administration; operating systems including Android, iOS and Chrome; Video Management System (VMS) configuration and administration; contact management platform configuration, management and administration; Internet networks including familiarity with routing, switching, peering and management concepts; fiber network design including L1 and L2 WAN topologies; telecommunication networks including voice, data and POTS, carrier administration, escalations and repair; cybersecurity as it relates to telecommunications networks and mobile devices. Experience working in an ISP or service provider environment, as well as significant project management experience is a plus. Payroll Title: Computer Network Engineer III SUMMARY: Under direction, provides complex and routine technical support to city-wide PC, Server, and Midrange computer users, administration of office communication systems; and/or local area network operations of City computers as well as the city's centralized computer system; and performs related duties as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Computer Network Engineer III is the advanced journey level of the Computer Network Engineer series and is responsible for the diagnoses of problems and networks, assisting in the design, planning and coordination of the installation of various data distribution computer networks such as Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN) and the interconnection of the two for all City departments. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED: Direction is provided by the Systems Administrator with functional direction from the Network Services Coordinator or Systems Analyst. Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision. WORK SCHEDULE: The normal work week is Monday through Friday 8:00 am-6:00 pm with every other Friday off. This position is required to be on an on-call (stand-by) rotation and you may be required to be available to work additional hours as needed to respond to workload needs. This position is governed by the overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay. Please note: The Information Technology Department supports public safety personal on a 24-hour, 7-day-per-week schedule, therefore, the candidate will be required to be on call on a rotating basis, subject to callback. As part of the selection process, applicants will be required to successfully complete a thorough background investigation, which includes a polygraph exam. Essential Functions Include but are not limited to the following: * Performs server infrastructure and network engineering duties in the design, test and support of network architecture and strategy, network standards, logical network design and network server capacity management; assists in the start-up, shut-downs and recoveries from system halts. * Oversees and implements projects, installs and implements operating systems, problem solves data accessing for users and oversees security functions; develops and introduces environmental standards through participation in network design. * Provides technical support and training in the planning and implementation of LAN and WAN office automation and distributed systems; provides technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues, backup procedures and upgrading existing systems. * Performs preventative and corrective maintenance, as necessary, including printers, storage devices, cables, connections and configurations for the support of the city's PC users. * Acts as technical project lead for the installation of LANs and the upgrade of hardware and software on existing networks; acts as a technical resources and liaison for City departments. * Provides technical troubleshooting, problem isolation and assistance with problem resolution for the more complex problems with standard PC LAN hardware and software recommended by Information Services. * Consults with departments to determine hardware and networking requirements, develops a network plan for new and existing site and applications; initiates and participates in the project to completion. * Analyzes user requests and makes recommendations regarding current and future needs, hardware and software needs and technological trends and ideas; implements new networking technology. * Interacts with vendors to ensure proper interface between various equipment during installation, repair, updates and failures. * Conducts various tests on components, equipment and software during installation to ensure all components are working properly and in accordance with city specifications. * Participates in the selection and evaluation of hardware and software, also develops and supports on-site training for City employees. * Designs, installs and supports the local area networks located in various City departments; assists with the division budget preparation; assists in the selection of vendors. Qualifications The following are minimum qualifications necessary for entry into the classification: Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. A typical way of obtaining the qualifications is to: * Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, or a closely related field and; * Four (4) years of experience providing routine to complex technical support on a variety of computer applications, local area networks and/or mid-range computers. License/Certificate: * Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license. Vacation Accrual Rates: Full time employees accrue vacation leave at a rate of 4.39-8.08 hours per pay period based on years of service. Bilingual Pay: A regular full time employee may receive bilingual pay at the rate of $50.00-$125.00 bi-weekly depending on the level the employee is required to provide bilingual services as determined by the City Manager or designee. Educational Incentive: Employees earn educational incentive pay for educational attainments not required by the classification. For those employees who waive the medical the City will contribute $893.91 per month. Any unused dental premium monies are paid to the employee. Life Insurance: City employees receive Basic Life Coverage and have the option to purchase additional insurance. Tuition Reimbursement: Full-time employees are eligible for 100% reimbursement of the costs of tuition, registration fees, laboratory fees, and books to a maximum of $1,000 per fiscal year for work related coursework.
