Engineer

M-D Intellishade is seeking Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and integration of advanced technology into motorized louvered roof systems.

This role combines mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to enhance the functionality, automation, and user experience of pergola systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in embedded systems, IoT, automation, and programming. They will also develop and implement smart features such as app controls, sensor integration, solar power management, and weather-responsive automation. Responsibilities: Design and integrate electronic and software components into the pergola system, including motorized actuators, sensors, and smart controllers.

Develop embedded software and firmware for motorized controls, automation, and connectivity. Implement IoT solutions for remote control, voice activation, and smart home integration

• Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit. Work with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electronic components into the aluminum structure.
  
  Develop and maintain mobile and web applications for user control and monitoring. Ensure seamless Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cloud-based connectivity for real-time control. Design a user-friendly interface for customers and dealers to configure and operate the pergola system.
  
  Implement weather-based automation, such as, rain sensors for auto-closure, wind sensors for safety. Develop solar panel integration for energy efficiency and battery backup solutions. Enhance system intelligence through AI and predictive maintenance alerts.
  
  Conduct rigorous testing of software and hardware components to ensure reliability and durability. Debug and resolve any firmware, software, or hardware integration issues. Provide technical training and support for dealers and installers.
  
  Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. 2 years' experience working in embedded systems, microcontrollers

• Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32 and motorized automation. Advanced understanding in languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript Knowledge of communication protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MQTT, Zigbee.
  
  Strong understanding of mobile app development iOS/Android and web-based control systems. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to collaborate with structural engineers. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  
  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement scalable solutions. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration. Willingness to work closely with sales and marketing teams to align features with customer needs.
