Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in crafting high voltage power lines (69kV - 345kV) using industry-leading software. You should be able to effectively communicate your engineering design concepts to various stakeholders within LCRA. In this role, you will use your expertise to design and analyze the transmission system, contributing to improving the quality of life for Texans.

You will be trusted to:
- Prepare scopes for TL projects and assist in the development of project estimates.
- Craft and analyze high voltage transmission lines (69kV - 345kV) using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER.
- Route transmission lines and develop comprehensive line designs, ensuring rigorously detailed implementation.
- Design structures and foundations, including the creation of structure loading trees.
- Prepare Construction Documents as the Engineer of Record.
- Review and approve vendor drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Provide authoritative support and mentorship to fellow engineers, construction crews, and other collaborators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement projects that meet our ambitious standards.
- Perform field assessments and inspections to determine project requirements and ensure quality standards.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends and standard methodologies to maintain our competitive edge.
- Serve as a department representative on task forces, committees, and cross-functional teams, and represent LCRA on external committees, conferences, and other groups
- Collaborate with consultants, surveying, construction personnel, warehousing personnel, real estate, consultants, vendors, and management on matters related to transmission inspection, reliability, and rehabilitation.
You qualify with:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
- Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering from an accredited University, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission line or structural design.
- Dedication to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in routing and crafting transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, & PLS-TOWER.
- Capability to craft structures and foundations and provide structure loading trees & review vendor drawings.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as the NESC, ASCE, ACI, and IEEE.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey engineering designs, standards, and processes to other engineers and collaborators.
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to develop engineering design standards and procedures.
- Experience mentoring and training engineering staff.
