The Engineer is responsible for monitoring internal and external facing applications and infrastructure with their primary task being to triage incident/outages and escalate as needed. The Engineer I should have general knowledge of IT, including hardware, operating systems, applications, networking technologies, and data center experience.
Education: Associates degree or equivalent experience in information technology or related field
Responds to alerts/alarms according to SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) by following predefined Knowledgebase (KB)/run book procedures
Work with internal technical teams to create and/or update knowledge base articles
Analyzes monitoring tools/services for performance and abnormal trends to ensure 24x7 operation
Experience with CMDB management and solutions
Knowledge of ITSM methodologies and best practices
Knowledge of ITOM methodologies and best practices
Configuring equipment for monitoring and alerting through SNMP
Work with vendors on tickets, fire suppression systems, and electrical needs
Task management and problem solving skills expected
Must have strong communication skills
Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective self-motivation and interpersonal skills
Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer
Must maintain knowledge of current information technology and healthcare trends
Attends regular customer and team department meetings as scheduled
Support multiple technical teams in 24x7 operational environment with high uptime requirements
Varied shift schedules may include day or evening hours

Understanding of computer/server hardware and software

Understanding of ITIL best practices
Previous experience with enterprise monitoring solutions.
