Engineer I/Ii Thermal Protection (Heaters & Insulation)

Summary
The Engineer I/II, Heaters will be responsible for the research, analysis, design, development, debugging and modification of Heating Equipment such as drain masts, inline heaters, heater hoses, heated manifolds & valves and insulation for the commercial aerospace industry. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will work to ensure robust, airworthy designs.

Competencies

• Analytical

• Product efficiency, transient and dynamic operating and load conditions. Design maturity and reliability analysis. Ability to gather information, analyze it and effectively present the data to supervisors/management.

• Design

• Strong engineering foundation in one or more disciplines such as electrical, thermal, electromechanical, aerodynamic, structural, and aerospace fields with knowledge of material selection, heater and insulation selection and heater design principles. Translates concepts and information into detailed heater and insulation design data. Experience with heater electrical design is a plus.

• Technical Skills

• Ability to use and create simulation tools. Experience in laboratory testing, instrumentation setup and data analysis. Ability to review critically the design features and tolerances affecting critical performance. Experience in aerospace regulations such as RTCA/DO-160 and SAE Aerospace Standards guidelines. Knowledge in major aerospace OEM heater and insulation design guidelines.

Ability to develop time management skills that are required for a demanding development environment. Ability to make timely/sound decisions and accurate judgments is essential.
