Job Description:

The Microchip Frequency and Timing Systems business unit is a world leader in precise time solutions and sets the world's standard for time. Our work distributes and applies precise time for the communications, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure, and metrology industries.

Frequency and Timing Systems is expanding with new contracts in the areas of digital signal processing, satellite communications, airborne timing, and navigation systems. The Government Systems group has an opening for a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals.

Our Government Systems group in Boulder, CO is seeking a new college graduate to fill a Systems Engineer role. This position is a fit for someone that enjoys technical achievement, cooperative research, never ending chances to learn, and a friendly team environment. You will participate in a wide variety of projects. The opportunity requires the candidate to be a self-motivated person who is proactive and goal oriented. Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • Experience with simulation, data processing, and analysis using Python and/or MATLAB

  • Familiarity with digital test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-Meter)

  • Great written and verbal communication skills

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • US Citizenship Required

  • Current TS/SCI and/or DoD Top Secret clearances are strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge in digital signal processing, control system design, linear system analysis, or statistical classification algorithms

  • Familiarity with precise timing applications and components including oscillators, time measurement circuits, and GPS receivers

  • Ability to efficiently operate in a Linux/Unix environment

  • Basic knowledge of microprocessors, memory devices, and logic devices

  • Basic knowledge of radio communications technology

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in Colorado, is $64,480-$128,000.*

  • Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
