By joining the Wastewater Treatment Division Operations Team as a LIMS Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), reporting solutions, and other critical applications.

You will work closely with our internal teams and external stakeholders to provide technical expertise, troubleshooting assistance, and ongoing support to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of our laboratory and plant operations. Job Duties

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical support and issue resolution on Thermo Fisher Scientific SampleManager and LabVantage LIMS platforms, including troubleshooting software bugs, data discrepancies, and user inquiries.

  • Perform regular system monitoring, maintenance, patching, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and data integrity on supported LIMS platforms.

  • Manage and update documentation related to supported LIMS platforms, including user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical specifications. This involves ensuring that documentation remains current and compliant with regulatory standards.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization of supported LIMS platforms and associated processes. This includes staying informed about industry trends and best practices to drive ongoing enhancements in laboratory operations.

  • Utilize Aquatics Informatics (formally Hach WIMS) to generate reports for multiple purposes, including regulatory compliance and tracking of plant processes.

  • Maintain and optimize existing interfaces between supported LIMS platforms and laboratory equipment, ensuring seamless communication for automated data capture, real-time analysis, streamlined workflows, enhanced data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. OR a combination of education, certifications, and experience demonstrating proficiency in performing the specified job duties.

  • Proven experience in managing and supporting Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

  • Ability to develop clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation.

  • Understanding of laboratory processes, protocols, and workflows to effectively support laboratory operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Experience with SQL Server administration and proficiency in SQL for efficient query execution and database management.

Required Licenses:

Washington State Driver's License

It Would Be Great if You Also Bring:

  • Certifications in LIMS platforms, such as Thermo Fisher Scientific SampleManager and LabVantage LIMS.

  • Experience or knowledge of regulatory compliance standards relevant to laboratory operations.

  • Experience with .Net and C#.

  • Proficiency with Aquatic Informatics (formerly Hach WIMS) reporting functionalities, including the ability to generate, customize, and interpret reports effectively.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic or C# for data manipulation and system configuration. Ability to write efficient scripts for data processing, automation, and integration tasks.

  • Maintaining Windows servers and workstations in an Active Directory environment

Supplemental Information

Working Conditions:

  • Work Location: Primary onsite location will be South Treatment Plant 1200 Monster Road SW, Renton, WA 98057. You will however be required to visit multiple work sites.

  • Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week with flexible schedules. This position is not covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.

  • Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters L117.
