Position Summary:
Manage engineering programs from concept through launch.
Responsibilities of Position:
Design, develop and validate TI thermal Modules & Systems products from concept to production.
Ideate, propose, and develop new solutions (ex, methods to integrate components more efficiently)
Interface with customers to determine product requirements.
Establish design parameters to ensure that product design is feasible for manufacturing.
Provide direction to designers with consideration for fabrication, processing and assembly of the product.
Implement design through a formal program of AQP.
Approve all product-engineering drawings: identify or establish performance and material specifications.
Analyze components for relevant failure modes and create formal documentation (DFMEA).
Validate all designs and prepare reports summarizing results (e.g., DVP&R).
Simplify and standardize current and new designs, where possible, to maximize economic benefits
Coordinate prototype orders, build and submission.
Ensure program objectives are met.
Other duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
Understanding of thermal systems and architectures with focus refrigerant and coolant systems for BEV and PHEV
Regular and predictable attendance.
Ability to manage program events such that engineering objectives are met.
Ability to formulate and implement solutions to design problems.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Proficient in MS Office programs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
3 to 5 year experience in field of thermal systems preferred
Minimum of BSME or related engineering degree
Strong project management experience preferred
Knowledge of thermal system components including pumps, valves, etc. preferred
Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
Travels to plant, supplier, and customer sites.
Working Conditions:
Occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds and frequently carries up to 15 pounds.
Maneuvers in, around, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC.
Works within an engine components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
