A Day in the Life of a Chemical Engineer at Bell:
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with global environmental regulations and requirements on Bell's products. Initial focus will be on REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals). Work will be performed with a cross functional team to develop, implement, and monitor company-wide approach to compliance with environmental regulations and/or company policies.
Responsibilities May Include:
Monitor applicable standards and regulations, such as on REACH, ROHS, conflict mineral, and other environmental regulations.
Work with cross functional team to execute REACH compliance, including assessing impact on company products to assure compliance in applicable regions of business.
Participate in new product reviews and proposed new or modified products for regulatory impact. Perform analysis as related to product regulatory compliance.
Work with engineering to analyze multi-level BOMs to calculate/determine the compliance status of finished products.
Review product compliance documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with communications on product regulatory issues to customers, the public, regulatory agencies when needed.
Assess and report on environmental program compliance, performance and effectiveness.
Interface with federal and state environmental agencies, including regulatory reporting.
Bachelor's degree is required.
Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering with emphasis on Chemical Processes, or other related discipline preferred.
3.0 minimum overall, undergraduate GPA.
Minimum Requirements for a Chemical Engineer at Bell:
Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Communication skills for relaying data (verbal and written) between other employees and customers.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Knowledge of coatings, composite materials, metals finishing, and/or other chemical processes and industry test methods.
