Oxy is looking for a Facilities Engineer. In this position, the person will be responsible for facility related activities and will provide engineering expertise in support of reservoir development and ongoing operations with focus on value optimization. Primary job duties involve designing, maintaining, and optimizing upstream onshore surface facilities and production operations.
Managing surface infrastructure projects from conception through implementation, including pipelines, compressor stations, pumping stations, and oil/water/gas separation, conditioning and processing facilities.
Analyzing, troubleshooting, and refurbishing existing surface infrastructure elements for optimum utilization.
Project planning and management for safe execution of projects with predictable cost, schedule and performance.
Work with subsurface/wells teams to design and install new facilities needed to address changing production rates.
Working with operations/construction field personnel to troubleshoot operating issues, develop/implement solutions in order to optimize field activities and ensure mechanicals integrity of equipment is maintained.
Working knowledge of the following in context of upstream oil and gas operations:
OSHA Process Safety Management elements and typical safety program requirements
Industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ASME Section 8, Div. 1 Pressure Vessel Code, etc.)
Typical rotating and stationary equipment
Typical materials of construction e. Process control elements and systems
Proficiency in hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing/design, and system design.
Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and in the time required.
Proficiency in or ability to learn applicable technical and economic analysis software.
Good problem solving and time management skills.
Capable of handling multiple jobs simultaneously and planning projects independently

Ability to work within multidiscipline team environment.

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree program.
A minimum of 5 years work experience in design of onshore oil and gas production and/or gas conditioning and processing facilities.
Experience in use of formal project management processes/systems
Ability to represent the company's interests with vendors and contract technical staff.
Working knowledge of typical onshore oil and gas construction practices.
Working knowledge of onshore oil and gas operations and maintenance functions.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles and life cycle cost analysis.
Working knowledge of corrosion engineering principles.
Formal training and work experience in project management.
Working knowledge of procurement systems and contracting.
