Control Integration & Accessory engineers architect, design, and develop game-changing control systems that implement the subsystems and hardware necessary to achieve customer and business value as defined by our products' engine performance, fuel consumption, operability, noise, emissions, and time on wing; and provide unmatched customer support, all in an environmentally responsible manner.
CIA engineers work across all CDS subdisciplines to help achieve program objectives of the CDS CIPT.
CIA Systems and Hardware engineers apply skills from across a wide range of PW Engineering disciplines such as Performance, Operability, Mechanical Disciplines, Aerothermal Management, to name a few, to develop, integrate and certify subsystems and hardware for Civil and Military customers. CIA engineering work the entire system life cycle from 1) control system technology development, 2) interpreting customer requirements, decomposing them to hardware and software, 3) technical and project oversight of hardware implementation, to 4) ensuring control system compliance across engine, flight and customer compliance testing, and finally, 5) leading system and hardware field issue triage and resolution.
Control System Accessory & Hardware Specialist is:
Owner of one or more IPT hardware item specifications (CRD, DRD, PPS,)
Coordinate hardware item Flight Safety/ Safety requirements
Responsible for technical resolution of supplier compliance gaps
Technical & Project Owner for Supplier Reviews
Coordinate hardware user's manual, e.g. HW/SW ICD, SUM, HUM
Supplier development validation testing (DVT) issue resolution
Hardware development engine test readiness, BOM Substitutions (DCCB Support)
Hardware item component Cert/Qualification (36-point Checklist) (Plans, Reports)
Field issue component RCCA
Supports IPT lead on Engineering Changes for their parts, including approval through all gates
In this particular role, the candidate will be initially responsible for:
Performing technology trade studies
Performing analysis for functional requirement decomposition
Developing transient models of sensors, electronic and electrical parts
Documenting analysis for requirement validation
Writing subsystem and component requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
2+ years of related work experience or 1 year of related work experience with an Advanced Degree
US Citizenship is required due to US Government contracts
Ability to obtain a US government security clearance
Master degree preferable.
Bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Systems engineering preferred
