Control Integration & Accessory engineers architect, design, and develop game-changing control systems that implement the subsystems and hardware necessary to achieve customer and business value as defined by our products' engine performance, fuel consumption, operability, noise, emissions, and time on wing; and provide unmatched customer support, all in an environmentally responsible manner.

CIA engineers work across all CDS subdisciplines to help achieve program objectives of the CDS CIPT.

CIA Systems and Hardware engineers apply skills from across a wide range of PW Engineering disciplines such as Performance, Operability, Mechanical Disciplines, Aerothermal Management, to name a few, to develop, integrate and certify subsystems and hardware for Civil and Military customers. CIA engineering work the entire system life cycle from 1) control system technology development, 2) interpreting customer requirements, decomposing them to hardware and software, 3) technical and project oversight of hardware implementation, to 4) ensuring control system compliance across engine, flight and customer compliance testing, and finally, 5) leading system and hardware field issue triage and resolution.

Control System Accessory & Hardware Specialist is:

  • Owner of one or more IPT hardware item specifications (CRD, DRD, PPS,)

  • Coordinate hardware item Flight Safety/ Safety requirements

  • Responsible for technical resolution of supplier compliance gaps

  • Technical & Project Owner for Supplier Reviews

  • Coordinate hardware user's manual, e.g. HW/SW ICD, SUM, HUM

  • Supplier development validation testing (DVT) issue resolution

  • Hardware development engine test readiness, BOM Substitutions (DCCB Support)

  • Hardware item component Cert/Qualification (36-point Checklist) (Plans, Reports)

  • Field issue component RCCA

  • Supports IPT lead on Engineering Changes for their parts, including approval through all gates

In this particular role, the candidate will be initially responsible for:

  • Performing technology trade studies

  • Performing analysis for functional requirement decomposition

  • Developing transient models of sensors, electronic and electrical parts

  • Documenting analysis for requirement validation

  • Writing subsystem and component requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • 2+ years of related work experience or 1 year of related work experience with an Advanced Degree

  • US Citizenship is required due to US Government contracts

  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master degree preferable.

  • Bachelor of science in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Systems engineering preferred

Pratt & Whitney Control Integration & Accessories (CIA) Organization is responsible for developing control system architecture and integrating the design of components, modules and systems into world class commercial and military jet turbine engine and aircraft systems. The CIA organization is seeking a Fuel and Actuation Product Center Specialist with strong technical, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop, integrate and certify fuel and actuation subsystems and hardware for Civil and Military customers. CIA engineering works the entire system life cycle from 1) control system technology development, 2) interpreting customer requirements, decomposing them to hardware and software, 3) technical and project oversight of hardware implementation, to 4) ensuring control system compliance across engine, flight and customer compliance testing, and finally, 5) leading system and hardware field issue triage and resolution. Key Responsibilities: * Developing and maintaining control component specifications * Coordination of hardware item Flight Safety/ Safety requirements * Technical resolution of supplier compliance gaps * Technical & Project Owner for Supplier Reviews * Supplier development validation testing (DVT) issue resolution * Hardware development engine test readiness * Hardware item component Cert/Qualification (Plans, Reports) * Field issue component root cause and corrective action * Supports integrated product team lead on engineering changes for controls components * Developing hardware specification template documents for Supplier(s) * Reviewing Supplier(s) hardware specification documents * Ensuring that hardware technical requirements are properly interpreted and implemented in Supplier(s) hardware design * Generating Program Level Statement of Work for flow down to Supplier(s) * Reviewing Supplier technical, cost & schedule performance to ensure compliance to program requirements and milestones * Supporting all hardware technical reviews at P&W and Supplier(s) * Participating in and concurring with hardware Supplier(s) source selection * Working with Supplier(s) on hardware architecture trade studies and conceptual hardware definition Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent discipline, and 5+ years of prior relevant experience with fuel and actuation systems and components, and familiarity with engine hardware and function, OR a Master's Degree in a related field and 3+ years of prior relevant experience * US Citizenship required due to government contracts * Able to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance, and to work in a Secure area * Up to 10% Travel * Work Schedule: On-Site Preferred Qualifications: * Presentation experience * Excellent Communication Skills * Ability to work on a cross functional team * Experience with DOORS, MATLAB, other modeling software Raytheon Technologies is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
