Northrop Grumman's Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence located in Melbourne Florida has an immediate opening for an experienced engineer specializing in mechanical system design. The chosen candidate will have a demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the procurement of aircraft actuation hardware (electrically and hydraulically powered) with related supplier management skills. The chosen candidate will have a demonstrated ability to perform design and analysis of aircraft mechanisms (flight controls systems, up-lock and down-lock systems, weapons carriage systems, electromechanical and hydraulic rotary and/or linear drive actuators, and etc.). This role requires an individual with demonstrated leadership experience.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 2 years' experience or a Master's of Science degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.

Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering plus a Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or Technical Management, or an MBA. Experience with NX and TeamCenter.

Examines engineering drawings and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
