Job Description:
The Crystal Growth Engineer to contribute to building an established, international silicon carbide manufacturing business. This role will be devoted to yield development, instrument engineering, and data analysis in support of single-crystal silicon carbide growth and fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain output of growth experiments by addressing process/equipment excursions
Manage projects to reduce process variability and improve crystal quality
Document process changes through creation and upkeep of standard operating procedures
Document tool history
Document project findings in archived reports
Qualify and install new tools and equipment
Own and troubleshoot processes, tools, and equipment
Analyze and extract process and yield data
Maintain a database and workflow or process parameters in coordination with crystal growth project owners
Physical Requirements:
M-Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. PPE Requirements include:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree or skilled trades training at a minimum
Knowledge of and experience with temperature/pressure control and vacuum systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Background in a high volume manufacturing environment
Exceptional attention to detail
Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering
Experience with temperature/pressure PID tuning and optimization
Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or other equivalent Manufacturing Operations Software.
