Position: Engineer

Location: Orrville, OH

Responsible for exhibiting Chesapeake Utilities Corporation's Mission, Vision and Values, regarding external customers, agencies, vendors, internal departments and co-workers. This position will provide engineering and technical leadership for midstream and distribution operations in facility design and compliance issues. Lead design efforts for pipeline facilities, processing facilities, compressor facilities, and metering facilities. Functional responsibilities for environmental compliance.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Design, review and/or approve gas system projects.

  • Gas system modeling of the gas system or project line extensions.

  • Support/manage System Integrity Management Plan.

  • Maintain manuals.

  • Interact with consulting engineers or government agencies on projects.

  • Assist with Integrity related compliance items.

  • Support the preparation of agency required reports such as annual DOT reports.

  • Assists with other duties as assigned.

Requiresa total commitment to Chesapeake Utilities Corporation's Mission, Vision and Values and:

  • Engineering Degree (Bachelor of Science) from four-year College or university.

  • Advanced mathematical and reasoning skills.

  • Knowledge and experience in gas industry engineering(midstream, transmission, distribution).

  • Knowledge and experience in gas pipeline design, processing plant design compressor facility design, meter and regulating station design.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and government regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information to mangers, clients, customers or the public.

  • Must demonstrate sound communication, business judgment, decision making skills, and maintain confidentiality.

  • Federal, State, Municipal regulatory requirements, permits and record keeping.

  • Company and industry standards, designs, and practices.

  • Company safety rules, regulations, procedures, policies and manuals.

  • Performs work tasks and activities in a safe and conscientious manner.

  • Normal level of visual and hearing ability.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse work group/environment.

  • Work around construction sites

  • Work in or around traffic while performing field surveys and other field tasks

  • Work around hazardous/flammable products

  • Possible out of town overnight assignments

SUMMARY The Mast Division Quality Assurance Engineer, plans, directs, oversees and executes activities related to manufacturing quality assurance and control, Engineering support and liaisons with customers on matters related to quality. Additionally, this position actively participates in, and leads as appropriate the deployment of the Will Burt Quality Management System and continual improvement initiatives in the division. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. * Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. * Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. * Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. * Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. * Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. * Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Other duties may be assigned.
