You will be part of a team responsible for designing innovative and manufacturable closure systems. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and be excellent at multi-tasking.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the design of all major car closure systems including, doors, hood, trunk, windows, etc. Including, all mechanisms, sealing systems and hardware (hinges, latches, etc.)

  • Benchmark closure systems designs

  • Work closely with CAE teams interpreting and using analysis results to guide and evolve the design

  • Work with manufacturing to insure efficient buildable designs

  • Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative environment

  • Support prototype builds in a hands-on manner

  • Devise tests to prove out the design

You should have:

  • Expertise in vehicle closure systems design

  • Experience with NX or equivalent CAD systems

  • Solid track record of successful system level integration

  • Experience working with Class A surface data

  • Experience with castings, extrusion process, stampings and their advantages and limitations

  • Working knowledge of Aluminum and Magnesium structure joining techniques.

  • Proof of excellence in your past position, while demonstrating profound creativity in resolving mechanical design problems

  • Experience in full life cycle, from concept to prototype to full production

Bonus points:

  • Experience with composites

  • Experience with GD&T

  • Fabrication experience

  • 3D printing and/or CNC experience

Education:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering

The Global Supply Manager manages all company business with a group of suppliers and is the key internal interface with Design, Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world-class products on time and cost-effectively. The Global Supply Manager must identify, develop, and manage the Global Supply Chain. He or she will help establish our global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product lifecycle. You Will: * Collaborate with Engineering, Design and Supplier Quality to identify potential suppliers with the right qualifications to meet Lucid's expectations and timeline * Create RFQs, review, analyze and clarify quotations from suppliers and develop sound sourcing and business recommendations balancing cost, quality, lead-time, technical considerations, and manufacturing location * Thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs and Engineering Services (NRE / EDT) * Work with suppliers and Engineering to release parts into production and issue POs for Prototype Parts and Prototype/Production Tooling * Manage supplier development and tooling timelines, part availability for prototype builds/start of production and develop solutions to delays or problems that arise * Manage design changes and cost changes as the overall design matures * Work with key stakeholders across Lucid management to drive decisions with business case analysis presentations * Maintain overall supplier relationships and act as the point of contact for all commercial issues, including internal report-outs summarizing sourcing status, parts availability and cost status * Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers to perform business and program reviews You Bring: * Bachelor's degree in technical, supply chain or finance discipline, MBA a plus * 4 years minimum Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience related to Chassis / Suspension systems or processes * Understanding of Closures and extensive experience in sourcing two or more of the following Closures commodities: Latches, Window Regulators, Sealing, Power Closures, Gas Struts, Check Arms, Anti-Pinch strips, etc. * Understanding in manufacturing processes supporting Closures commodities (ex. Injection molding, Extrusions, Mechanisms, Stamping, etc.) * Product launch experience preferred * Understanding of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis. Able to show teamwork to resolve problems and a thought process to drive successful solutions * A scrappy attitude to accomplish difficult tasks sometimes with incomplete or missing information * Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Passion for results, strategy, and hands-on execution. Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage difficult suppliers and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal staff * Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational, program management capabilities and presentation skills * Proficient in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) * Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively Be part of something amazing: Come work alongside some of the best and most accomplished minds in the industry.
