Seeking a motivated self-starter who wants to be on the front line, anxious to be involved in product definition and the support of new innovative new power management ICs for our Company, working within a fast-paced start-up environment.
Reporting to the local Applications Engineering Lead, and this position will fill an essential role in systems level product definition, characterization, and the development of all collateral material required to bring a product to market, and support customers. This position will be located in Murata's facilities in San Jose, CA.
The ideal candidate will be very conversant in latest DC-DC power conversion topologies, with a strong desire to develop skills in the low voltage single- and multi-phase power conversion sector using unique power architectures to solve complex power conversion requirements in demanding applications such as powering of latest generation processors, FPGA's and ASICs.
You will need to demonstrate a very strong technical, analytical ability, grounded on a thorough academic understanding of power conversion, and coupled with a strong competence in a laboratory bench environment. You will need to demonstrate capability to quickly grasp new technologies and apply prior experience to work effectively and with minimal supervision to add value within a small highly experienced team.

Roles & Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for:
Product road testing and characterization
Assisting in de-bugging of new PMICs
Competitive analysis including platform teardowns, testing, generating detailed reports and benchmarking
Systems level optimization including design, build and testing of power solutions, including identification and testing of discrete components to support customer applications
Supporting marketing in generating collateral material including product datasheets, applications notes, evaluation platforms, simulation models, and characterizing of products for specific applications

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)
Conversant in leading simulation, schematic and PCB design software tools such as SIMPLIS, OrCAD, and Allegro
Deep understanding of analog circuit theory, control loop design, and product performance
Strongly conversant in latest power conversion control topologies
Strong lab and system debug skills including demonstrated lab automation proficiency
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
