Job Summary Contribute to Comcast's Smart Network Platform (SNP), the multi-tenant, device and network service lifecycle management platform responsible for automating the management of Comcast's network to simplify operational activities, drive reduction in total number of outages and mean time to restore (MTTR), and increase network visibility; utilize Java and object-oriented programming, analysis, and design within the Spring framework to develop software in an Agile environment for network equipment management and monitoring. Job Description Core Responsibilities Design, develop, test, debug and document new and existing software and or applications for real-times communication services. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and business requirements.

Evaluate new and emerging technologies for implementation. Create platform and other application prototypes quickly. Contribute to and respond to peer code reviews as needed.

Write code to create robust and scalable applications. Works with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements. Strong technical expertise and troubleshooting skills for large scale enterprise systems and software.

Minimal conceptual, logical and physical data modeling with data modeling tools and database design in complex, large-scale data environments. Qualifications Java programming background. Experience developing service-oriented architectures and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability.

Proficient in OO concepts and patterns. Web Services - Restful/JSON. Understanding concepts of multi-threading, cache, memory management, Java Virtual Machine.

Comfortable with operating systems like LINUX/UNIX. Analytical and problem-solving skills and able to work as part of cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Ability to identify / resolve system bottlenecks.

Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and similar network protocols is a plus. Understanding of network devices, switches and routers is a plus.

Experience with AWS is a plus.

Our products are used by thousands of healthcare institutions globally and provide world leading capabilities for the analysis of genomic, clinical, and imaging data. </p><p>In order to augment our Data Services team we are looking for a  <strong>Senior Software Development Engineer</strong> (Senior Data Services Engineer) in Massachusetts, US. </p><p>As a <strong>Senior Software Development Engineer</strong> (Senior Data Services Engineer) you will report to a team lead in Data Services, and work together with a team of Engineers on developing large-scale data services and data warehouses powering our platform in the digital healthcare sector. </p><p>Our platform is a one-of-a-kind globally distributed information system that brings together hospitals and labs to provide data ingestion and processing, analysis and modeling, reporting and intelligence, distribution and sharing of a multitude of complex sources of structured and unstructured data, including genomics, imaging, and clinical data, delivered as a multi-tenant SaaS platform on the cloud. </p><p>You will be performing end-to-end delivery of data services, data warehouses, and other projects, aided by your team lead and your team members as part of our Software Development Lifecycle. This will include design, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, maintenance, and support of the services and other projects owned by your team. You will be responsible for the design and technology decisions for several high-performance distributed services, their interaction and components. You will orchestrate the design of services between multiple teams using patterns and best practices. You will actively drive and coordinate the development of the technology roadmap with senior technical and architecture staff. You will drive and oversee the evaluation of new technologies and design and implement POCs for future services. You will actively drive and participate in code and design reviews with other members of the team. You will participate in project estimation and risk-assessment, and exchange with stakeholders in Product and Project Management as well as other departments on technical matters. </p><p>You will actively help your team lead with team organization, participate in recurring team activities and help organize them. You will promote and share best practices inside and beyond your team.
