Position Overview

Developmental level in Engagement to assist with assigning tasks, coordinating daily activities and monitoring performance. Assists in the training of new team members; monitor safety requirements and regulations for all staff; prepare reports on team activities as requested; Assists members of management in project management & leads workflow.

Summary of Job Duties

Maintain responsibility for a SIM classroom daily. Create, prepare, and implement interactive and functional activities.

Maintain a positive therapeutic environment in the room and assist the other staff in the room with understanding the activities and schedules of the day. Plan and/or assist in decorating the classroom and hallways of SIM. Ensures safety and well-being of residents; provides direct care to residents, incorporating habilitation and occupational therapy goals; provides and/or assists in personal care, communication, socialization; Repositions residents as needed; Works directly with residents to meet physical needs individually or in group settings.

Provides guidance and instruction in self-skills, social skills, household/domestic skills and community skills. Participate in the planning and implementation of larger group events hosted by SIM. Work cooperatively as a team member to assure a variety of engaging experiences that meet the personal needs of the individuals served.; becomes familiar with all emergency procedures; attends scheduled training sessions and required in services.Participate in the planning and implementation of community engagement activities; drives and escorts residents to scheduled outside recreational activities and other daily activities, as needed.

Operates motor vehicles as assigned, monitors cleanliness and maintenance of vehicle.Participates in Individual Habilitation Plan meetings or Individual Service Plans or Individual Education Plans or another habilitation plan as needed by the individual served. Ensures completion of appropriate documentation pertinent to resident's well-being and care. Keeps records of residents' progress; maintains accurate records; maintain and dispense medications and records administration of medication.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Equivalent to high school diploma, one (1) year of experience in day programming and/or activities field working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or 1-year experience working with other special populations or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Must have valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record and show proof of insurance.

Supplemental Information

Vehicle Driving Training. Medication Administration Certificate.

Valid State of Ohio Driver's License with valid insurance. CPR & First Aid Certification. Must maintain certifications.
