WHO YOU ARE

We're looking for an experienced Engagement Manager to join the team at Theorem. In this role, you will kick off projects and manage programs staffed with our craftspeople and experts who are working directly with customers to build complex custom software applications. You understand exactly what goes into being a successful product team in a consultative relationship and take client satisfaction personally.

You are entrepreneurially minded and there are no barriers to how you approach helping our customers solve their problems. You are a mentor and coach, and you grow those around you. You are the most senior consultant on an account.

You become a trusted advisor to our customers and help them in unexpected and delightful ways.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You are directly responsible for client satisfaction You ensure that we're solving the right problems with the right solutions, that our teams are staffed appropriately, that our project plans have the right strategy, and that the work we're doing delivers the greatest value possible to our customers.

You demonstrate the ability to plan, organize and manage all phases of a project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery. You own responsibility for kicking off new projects, so you consult directly with clients, our internal resourcing teams and sales to create and execute on a plan.

You're ultimately the person responsible for making sure the project succeeds by:

  • Ensuring client stakeholders & teams love working with us.

  • Ensure we deliver on our promises

  • Demonstrating ability to plan, organize and manage all phases of a project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.

  • Empowering our teams to come up with the plan and do their best work, and provide coaching to them as necessary.

  • Reviewing what the team does and providing coaching where necessary.

  • Ensuring our teams are planning, consulting and doing work that meets our standards and your personal standards to ensure client happiness.

Additional responsibilities:

  • You make all final calls about team staffing.

  • You make all final calls about services team mission and the strategy for us to build the most valuable thing possible.

  • You support our sales team in qualifying new opportunities

Overview of the Role The goal of the Career Coach is to ensure students are supported as they start to think about their next professional steps and graduates are prepared and confident in their job search. A balance of ensuring that graduates are empowered to find jobs in a timely manner, as well as find roles that they are passionate about, is critical for this role. Responsibilities * Coach & Counselor - Ensure all job-seeking students & graduates have a smooth transition from the classroom to job seeking and that they feel supported during this process. Reduce anxiety for students & graduates around their job search through clear communication. Help students identify their personal goals to best impact their job search & educational experience. * Content Delivery - Educate students & graduates of immersive programs on skills needed to perform an effective job search. Lead both recurring one-on-one and classroom based programming. * Content Creation - Work with teams at GA that are responsible for curriculum to highlight updates as needed and create new student-facing resources. Be a key thought partner in the curriculum and resource creation. * Internal Team Connector - Utilize and coordinate with GA community resources as needed to acquire additional educational opportunities (mock technical interviews, project feedback, etc.) * Risk Management - Track student progress and highlight to teammates and stakeholders when a student isn't doing well or falling out of communication. Also, ensure that we're putting quality, qualified grads into our community. * Partnerships and Business Development - Build target lists of companies, which align with General Assembly's mission and needs. Identify key events (meetups, etc.) in the community, at times attending on behalf of GA. Skills & Qualifications * Familiarity with the tech (web development, data science, UX) landscape; previous experience working in some facet of the tech industry. Awareness of tech job market and breadth of opportunities. * Passionate about education & technology. * Previous recruiting or counseling/coaching experience. Account management or sales experience is a plus. * Comfortable presenting both one-on-one and delivering to a large group. * Able to give constructive, positive feedback to people of diverse professional and life backgrounds. * Previous personal job search experience, and an ability to be relatable. * Resourceful; able to pull educational resources from the community and to tailor lesson plans/meetings based on graduate needs. * Able to manage large volume of requests and organize systems to keep track of students in various stages.
