Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Engagement Manager. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Project management (technical) that can help coordinate and manage multiple development project activities
Must be technical enough to interface with developers and scrum masters to understand the current posture of the project and report back to government leadership
Must be able to create and update project schedules as needed
This is a leadership position and will report directly to Deputy PM
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
This position may include a combination of engineering management duties
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Performs technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced electronics systems
This job family covers technical disciplines not specifically covered by our existing job summaries such as component engineering, failure analysis, human factors engineering, and/or material engineering
Prepares, plans and arranges the labor, schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating standards and special devices
First level supervision responsible for at least two individuals, typically non-exempt
Directs team members to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies
Assigns tasks and reviews employees' work at frequent intervals, participates in performance appraisals, workload planning and scheduling
Drives continuous improvement throughout the group and processes
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient at all responsibilities associated with the position
Typically has proficient experience in this area of expertise
Has shown ability to meet business expectations and supervise people
Proficient knowledge of engineering processes
