Our Engagement Controller practice helps clients define what they need and how it can be delivered. We work with clients to define their projects' scope in as much detail as possible using advanced financial, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. We provide realistic cost estimates that account for projects' phases and activities, people, materials, hardware, and software and produce the best- and worst-case estimates using leading-edge project and client management software to keep clients' projects on track and on cost.

Work You'll Do

As an Engagement Controller Analyst, you will assist project leadership in managing revenue and margins by emphasizing cost of delivery that affects overall engagement profitability. You will maintain compliance with clients' policies, perform internal financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and cost variance analysis, and help manage projects' billing and receivables process.

You will also monitor project performance and determine improvement areas by developing key performance indicators and frequently communicate with the project team, finance department, and other project stakeholders to keep projects on track and within the scope of cost. You will team and collaborate with other controllers across the practice, including our practitioners in India. This person should have strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate findings.

The Team

Our Engagement Controller practice helps client define what they need and how it can be delivered. We work with senior leadership to define their projects' scope in as much detail as possible.

Using advanced financial, budgeting, and forecasting techniques we provide realistic cost estimates that account for projects' phases, people, materials, hardware, and software. We produce the best- and worst-case estimates using leading-edge project and client management software to help keep clients' projects on track and on budget. We manage risk by performing financial analysis and reconciliations to keep project variances in check.

You will work in a team composed of management, senior and junior staff, along with team members in India. This team dynamic provides unique perspectives that will enable you to give the most effective recommendations to Deloitte engagement management.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in process or completed in these related areas of study: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or a related area

  • Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)

  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles

  • Ability to travel 80-100%

Preferred

  • Experience working in a financial analysis role

  • Experience with MS Access and MS Project applications
