The selected candidate will provide systems engineering in support of the NAVAIR PMA-209 CNS/ATM Surveillance Team and will have the following responsibilities:
Applies knowledge of ADS-B airborne equipment to APX-123 and equivalent military/civil transponders.
Will provide ADS-B Performance Standards Documentation. Review documents and find standards that apply to the transponders.
Applies knowledge of Mode S airborne equipment to the APX-123 and equivalent military/civil transponders.
Will provide Mode S Performance Standards Documentation. Review documents and find standards that apply to the transponders.
Respond to Data Call requests from NAVAIR and external agencies, such as, NAVAIR program offices, AIMS PO, System Integrators, and the FAA. Provide supporting documentation for data calls.
Respond to technical requests from CNS/ATM Teams.
Attend ADS-B platform integration related meetings and provide input during/after the meetings.
Provide transponder technical evaluations at the PMA-209 Common Systems Integration Laboratory (CSIL) by conducting the evaluations or assisting the Surveillance Team members.
Review ADS-B related documentation and provide comments to the appropriate leads.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
