Provides technical support to manufacturing and related functions. Researches, develops, and improves manufacturing processes, methods, and systems for products, facilities, fixtures, tooling, equipment, and/or materials.

Develops and tests work methods and procedures, ensuring performance and quality of materials, products, and machines meet specifications and standards. Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.

Applies engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a limited portion of a technical project to include Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, Test.

Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations. Ability to set up, organize, and populate Manufacturing Engineering production information using Microsoft Access, Excel and Project.

Investigates nonconformances to develop repair and rework procedures and develop effective root cause and corrective actions to prevent these in the future.

Develops and maintains effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems and implement solutions of limited complexity.

Job Description: The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQE) will perform supplier facing quality engineering, in support of assigned Program. The SQE will work across Hardware Management Teams, Supply Chain, Operations and Engineering activities to analyze, control, and improve product quality. The SQE will: * Analyze product performance using statistical methods to understand root cause and identify significant variances to the technical data packages * Perform analyses of nonconformities to identify root cause, establish effective containment and elimination plans, and develop/monitor corrective actions * Assure clear identification, physical control and competent disposition of nonconformities * Facilitate corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability * Participate in Program Reviews, Supplier Reviews, and Technical Interchange Meetings * Analyze and approve proposed engineering, planning changes, test plans, and procedures * Participate in design reviews, process change reviews, qualification test reviews, as well as Test Equipment verification and validation * Coordinate / publish metrics for Corrective Action Board Required Skills: * Four (4) or more years of related Quality Engineering, manufacturing or related engineering experience * Familiarity with First Article Inspection, Source Inspection, Acceptance Test Procedures, Quality Notes, Supplier Assessments, and/or Manufacturing Lean Authorization * Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process improvement teams * Competency in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques with ability to interface with various engineering disciplines * Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment * Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications * Ability to understand drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs, process disciplines and tool control) Desired Skills: * Existing Secret Clearance issued by DoD * Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems * Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications * Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates) * Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping * Experienced in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis * Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis and Design of Experiments * Knowledge of Performance Specification and Requirements Management Practices * Engineering development experience * Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing) Required Education (including Major): * B.S. in Engineering, Science, Technology or Mathematics This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. 127447 Business Unit Profile Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) is the world leader in the design, development and production of missile systems for critical requirement including air-to-air, strike, surface Navy air defense, land combat missiles, guided projectiles, exoatmospheric kill vehicles, missile defense and directed energy weapons.
