Short Overall Summary of Position

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is searching for an Operations Manager 2 to support our growing EPS (Energy Performance Solutions) business. In this role, you will be responsible for all projects activities for large performance contracting guaranteed energy savings projects within your area of responsibility. This position can will cover PA, MD, DE, VA, WV and, NC primarily, however depending on volume in current assigned area, my need to expand based upon current workload. Work from home option is possible however expectations are that you will hold in person reviews of projects reviews and executions on a weekly basis. The role is a COS role in-which you will have a target utilization of 50%

As an Operations Manager II, you will:

  • Oversee supervision of EPS project execution. Guild projects within the business, including project organization, definition, planning, implementation, and control. Supervise operations activities, manage, labor utilization, and maintain control of purchased service and product, Provide pre-sale technical, design and operations support to sales team. Determine resource needed to manage schedules. Seek customer feedback and take action to maintain high level of customer satisfaction. Coordinate job cost review estimates and but mitigation plans in place.

  • Participate in pre-bid reviews and sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the estimate and job layout. Analyze plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements. Follow up with appropriate management to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.

  • Manage the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the Project Team. Monitor progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan.

  • Prepare and oversee preparation of engineering re-estimate reports. Utilize financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs. Utilize financial and monthly forecasting tools and works with other team members to monitor, manage and control costs. Oversee preparation of progress billings of team, pursues timely payments from the customer

  • Successfully define work flow, jobs and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. May recommend /determine organizational structures and supervisory relationships for own segment of business. Responsible for overall success of assigned business.

  • Maintain business best practices, ensure LOA , and boundary conditions are adhered to.

  • Help drive sales and project development, oversee all cost reviews for all assigned projects. Assume economic responsibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position and lead a small team of project managers (typically 6-8) who manage large performance contracts with assigned area. Complete P&L in area of responsibility.

  • Maintain utilization via project execution and oversees development of all projects within area. Hold cost reviews, mitigate risks and adheres to best practices such as issuance of RFP's to all subcontractors we are receiving pricing from.

  • Execute at a minimum Monthly Project Coordination meetings for assigned project. Maintain high level of Accuracy on forecasting for area of responsibility

  • Drive project development to hit OI target and schedule.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a technical field preferred, however, candidates with a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalency, along with strong mechanical and HVAC experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing large energy or mechanical commercial/industrial building projects (over $500K).

  • Strong knowledge of industry fundamentals and business operations; Excellent contracting skills; An understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these in managing assigned projects; Strong leadership, listening, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Project or Primavera and Outlook. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

  • up to 65% travel.

  • Knowledge of utility rebates and performance contracting legislation preferred but not required.

  • Strong mechanical and HVAC systems knowledge and experience is preferred.

  • Federal and public jobs (with an understanding of prevailing wages) work experience is preferred but not required.

  • Estimating, design verification, knowledge of building codes, project scheduling, equipment start-up, commissioning, and project close out.

  • The pay range for this position is $98,980 - $169,680 and the annual incentive target is 10%. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
