This role is responsible for developing and closing qualified new business through exceptional consultative selling skills by following the Consumer's Energy Sales Process, monitoring, reporting and executing the sales initiatives, projects, products and services that will increase revenues, margin, market share, and customer satisfaction within both the business utility and non-utility market segment for Consumers Energy.
The Energy Management Solutions Sales Professional is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the sales relationship with each client/prospect in their portfolio at every level from the executive suite to departmental line managers. They identify potential leads, qualify them, uncover opportunities, and close sales that provide the client with actionable solutions through our suite of products and services. To this end, they leverage their industry and business knowledge to create demand and persuade through the development and presentation of compelling client investment rationales. Product, Services and Solution agreements will encompass all offerings and range in scale from fundamental to complex, multi-service, multi-year agreements and relationships.
The Energy Management Solutions Sales Professionals responsibilities include the smooth transition of new business from sales execution to delivery, coaching and mentoring account delivery leaders on client relationship management issues, and providing feedback on customer wants and needs to internal stakeholders.
Consultative and relationship selling strategies to meet sales targets
Create entry strategies for new clients and projects
Utilize business and industry knowledge to create value propositions
Execute competitive sales tactics to win and close business
Develop key client relationships including the executive level
Utilize business and financial knowledge to create value propositions
Lead in client contract negotiations
Report sales activities to upper management

Bachelor's degree in the applicable field of study. Less than a Bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.

Hours and Travel:
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 10% of time spent in the office or specific field locations. This position will require the ability to travel between field locations and customer locations throughout Michigan. This position may include nights and weekend/holiday timeframes.
