EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Non-exempt - overtime paid pursuant to Human Resources and Labor Relations policy
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direction, this position inspects residential dwellings to ensure weatherization program needs are met. Performs job related repairs, prepares estimates and conducts energy audits. Communicates with clients as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects homes and performs related repairs and inspections, ensuring compliance with the Weatherization Program needs and standards.
Prepares estimates for the cost of materials necessary for assigned jobs.
Communicates with clients relaying the work expectations and energy conservation expectations; ensures clients have signed and completed all necessary forms and documentation.
Performs health and safety inspections and testing.
Maintains inventory of materials and other program inventory.
Ensures contractor compliance with program requirements.
Prepares, conducts and attends meetings, training programs and seminars.
Promotes and coordinates efforts toward client and department goals with contractors and other agencies.
Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED.
Three (3) years of experience in construction or building trades
Required Licenses or Certifications
Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
As a condition of continued employment, must successfully complete within six months of employment the Home Energy Professional Certification for Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector
